Default Video - What its like daily driving a 600 HP A&A Vortech C5

Guys,

I have been asked quite a bit in the past year about what it is like to daily drive a 600 HP supercharged C5. Mine is essentially stock (no cam or headers) and so it is a good example of what the single addition of a supercharger does to the personality of the C5.

I put together this short video to walk through the things you will notice and how car drives in everyday scenarios.

Thanks!

From your boost gauge, it looks like you are runnng 12-14lbs of boost. That's on a stock bottom end? What size pulley?

That was the first thing I noticed too. The boost needle goes to 14 psi. I'm under 10 psi on my A&A set-up.

Nice!

I've got the same question as workman above - From your boost gauge, it looks like you are running 12-14lbs of boost. That's on a stock bottom end? What size pulley?

I'm running a A&A V3 si with headers and valve train upgrades on a 3.8 " pulley, stock everything else - very safe tune at a little over 500rwhp...

Been getting tempted to turn it up but been kinda hesitant with the stock bottom end...

V3Si, 3.6" Pulley. motor is 100 stock with 85k except LS6 valve springs to handle 6500 RPM's.

Stock exhaust manifolds and exhaust. Peaks at 15PSI at 6500. Cam and headers with no cats would drop the boost a fair amount for sure. Car runs 14.5 seconds at 130 MPH.

Not sure what year yours is buy the rods were improved in later years. I did tons of reading on the subject and for my 2003 I decided to set the redline at 6600, shifting at about 6400 allowing 200 extra in case I miss by a smidge

It is a big investment. If you are planning to keep the C5 for 5 plus more years (and want a ton more power) I would highly recommend it!!
