Default Billy Boat headers? Anyone tried them?

I know that there are alot of companies for the same price but wanted to try something different. There is not alot of info on the internet or post of peoples experience with these headers. Has one one ran these?

I have not ever seen anyone using these headers. Also, to be clear the headers on a Z are the same as on a coupe or vert.

You would think with billy boats exhaust being popular people would buy the headers. I'm curious of the fitment, quality, and of course performance.

The reason I put z06 is because of the years that the z06 was produced. When going to check out for B&B headers (on every website) you have to pick between two options. 97-00 or 01-04. Wonder why they are not the same?

Good question and I'm not 100% sure but I think early/late differences have to do with AIR fitting locations and the dipstick tube. But late C5 vs Z should interchange.

Curious about that too. Don’t really see anyone with corsa headers either. Most people I’ve seen have Texas speed. I’ve also heard of a lot of nightmare stories about installation and fitment issues with these less popular brands like b&b. The new redesigned kooks sure are nice and they were made to be super easy to install. But the $2k price tag is a little steep.

Agreed. I wanted to try something different. I'm curious if the kooks really goes in that easy. Do you have aftermarket headers?

I've used Billy Boat/B&B products on some of my cars and have always found their stuff to be top-notch. I wouldn't hesitate to use their products.

Please give me additional info. I'm trying to decide between b&b or arh. Can you please tell me if you used the headers on your c5,fitment, hp gains. Right now I'm leaning on arm headers. You may convince me.

I have the ARH brand, fit great, go in easy, no burnt plug wires, no denting the tubes, no leaks at the connectors. Don't hit the steering column.. Can't tell you hp gains because I did heads, cam etc at the same time

I have the Billy Boat headers on my 01. They are great. Don't need to modify anything to get them to fit. I did not have to dent a primary to have clearance for the steering shaft or any of that crap that I see people do for headers. I got them in from the top. Passenger side was simple. Driver's side required pulling the alternator, valve cover, motor mount and jacking the motor up as high as I could to get it to drop in but that was still pretty simple as long as you know you have to do it going into the ordeal. I would buy them again if I were to do it again.

After the install did you have any clearance issues under the car? Any scraping?

Have you priced out the b&b package. I was shocked to see they’re the same price as kooks.

also, looks like tsp stopped making their catted xpipe.

I can get a brand new set for 700 including headers an catless. I'm very worried about the installment.

I had BB Headers on my '01 Z06 I sold in '08. They were totally fine - a header either fits and works great or it sucks. They were in the fits category.

At that price, I would just go with it. Fitment issues can be dealt with. Did you get the install directions from b&b? What do they say?

pipes seem low but I haven’t had any issues over the two years / 10,000 miles they’ve been on.
