There is an overwhelming optimistic view of human awareness in this thread. Although some people do these things intentionally, if you really watch these types of people, you will find they are simply stupid...and I literally mean they are idiots. I think we are far more aware of these issues because we care about our vehicle and have the intelligence to make decisions to avoid other vehicles. The everyday idiot has no clue... no thought process. They are zombies with very little synapse firing occurring upstairs. Do you really think the 22 year old that just got out of his/her diversity in women’s makeup and tampons class has any clue about anything, especially something as complex as parking a vehicle?

There are far more stupid people in this world than ********. It takes intelligence and the ability to think to be an *******. It is worse than you think. These people do not know. Worse yet, they reproduce and raise multi gender babies that are unsure if they are from Neptune or not...then they go vote . I will let you take a wild guess at who they vote for.

Plus, next time you are out driving in your shiny, well-cared for Corvette, take a real look around to the other vehicles on the road. 99% of the population simply view their cars, trucks, etc., as basic modes of transportation and getting from here to there and back again. The typical vehicle on the road today is now 11.8 years old, having increased an average of 4% over the last five years, according to a recent report. The same report indicates that the number of vehicles on the road has also hit an all-time high: more than 278 million. Since my C5 is a 2004, my "older car" is now adding to that stat. Net result, odds are the guy driving the other older car doesn't care about my shiny older car.

Yes, you are so right! They vote for con men, grifters, morons, sexual predators, narcissists, criminals, adulterers, rapists, degenerates, hypocrites, racists, fascists, draft dodgers, traitors, liars, people that will tell them what they want to hear to get elected, and people that care more about enriching themselves than they do about the country. We are totally screwed.

It may be frustrating, but they are free to park anywhere they like just like you. If they gave you plenty of access to your car and no damage was done, just be thankful they gave your car some protection.

The only saving grace is the size of the car doors these days. Back in the 70's I had a 74 Corvette and the doors on those Monte Carlos, Grand Prixs, and other 2 door models were longer than the US tax code. I parked at an angle an awful lot.

Say what you want but IMO some of these people are simply being vindictive and mean spirited. Jealousy enters the picture and, as previously stated, some are just morons with I.Q's of single digits who don't think about the next 5 minutes... And yes, sadly they do reproduce and vote...

Loneliness??? Just about any of my nice/adult toy cars (BMW's, Porsches, Corvettes, have had the benefit(?) of unwanted automotive companionship despite my efforts over many years to park in such a way/place that I thought would discourage the "companionship" parking issue. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. If there is no damage and I can still get into my car without said damage I just leave aggravated. However, if I get paint damage, can't open my door etc., well, without saying more, action is taken to make sure it becomes an unforgettable experience for them and hopefully a long remembered warning to such future behavior. By the way, on an above post, I chuckled at the thought of coming out and finding a shopping cart affixed to your car. Good one!! I never thought of that. Best wishes to all!

I would wait for the person to come out and I'd ask them why they parked there...

Situations similar as described above have happened to me parking my C5 but I do nothing since I believe in and witnessed KARMA as the payback.

I know a lot of you get just as frustrated and upset as I do about parking out in BFE, and it never fails to have someone park right next to you. Why?? Well one, because they can, I think that pisses us off the most (It's like, for "Fk's sake, I parked out here for a reason, what's your excuse"?) Two: Most of us have learned the hard way by parking out in BFE, that trying to be conventional about it, and park among all the grocery getters near the place of business front doors, has yielded negative results.

At this juncture in my life, I look at it like this. As long as I don't find damage on my car or need a can opener to get in the door, I'm okay with someone parking next to me...I don't like it obviously but, I can live it. YMMV.

I will say this....When I do decide to drive and park one of my nicer vehicles, I plan ahead. If I know I'm going to be in an area, where I can't keep a visual on it in 30 minutes or less, or making multiple errand stops, I'll drive a vehicle with less prestige. It's proven to be a sound pattern.

I always try to park in a "safe" spot as far away as I need to. 99% of the time no one parks next to me. Once at a casino I parked my C5 as far away as I could, There was 40 or 50 open spots before the parked cars. As we were walking to the entrance I turned around and a van full of people parked next to my car. Don't have a clue why, maybe the folks wanted the exercise. I walked back and moved it a row over.

So when you returned to your Vette, were they parked next to you again?

For me, what's worse than some moron parking close to you when you've isolated your car, is to find a shopping cart next to your car. I've watched people come out of the store , unload their items, and just leave the cart between the vehicles. Sometimes I've seen carts get blown right into the side of a car. This, when the cart corral is merely steps away where it would be safe.
This is just laziness and inconsideration for others.
