I've got a stock 1999 and I need new brakes but also want to replace the stock rotors with something that performs better and looks better. I don't race, but sometimes I reach triple digits on the ol' speed-o-meter. Recommendations?

As far as rotors I would get some Centric premium blank rotors.

Below is a pic of brakemotive rotors. They come with ceramic pads and a zink coating on the surface area away from where the pads make contact. They're not a high performance set-up, more aesthetic, but they work fine...low dust, quiet, etc. I've made some hard stops and they work great. I think I paid $160 for four rotors and pads.

Three or four years ago I purchased a BrakeMotive set up off the national auction site. Driven daily and in the rain often, they have been a great setup for me. Great stopping power, low dust and no rust at all....and great looks. Like the above, they are drilled and slotted with no crackes. AND, all for under $200. shipped complete with rotors, pads, hardware and instructions.

Yeah, the Brake Motive rotors will be plenty for you as a daily driver. I bought them when I first got my car, knowing I would upgrade brakes later, but they've held up pretty well to abuse. For a daily driver, they are more than adequate.
Pads are all over the place - I use Hawk Blue (work but are dusty). The cryo-treated rotors however are the bomb - ran them on my SUV and they cured my "wobbles" - and later put them on my '00 and no regrets...
I have the R1 Concepts coated rotors and ceramic pads. I've had no problems....just performance street driving. They were there to answer questions when I called.
I pulled the trigger last night and purchased these rotors and pads. BrakePerformance. They are more expensive then then BrakeMotive parts, and I know that a lot are running BrakeMotive. I do appreciate all the suggestions and it's nice to know that if these don't live up to standards I can fall back to BrakeMotive for not a lot of money.
Another one for Brakemotive, just put mine on about a month ago. They've been great for my Z06 for DD duty so far. It seems that they are just Powerstop drilled/slotted rotors, and Powerstop Evolution Z16 pads. I like this setup enough that I'm going with the same components (just different P/Ns) for the big brake kit on my 2001 Audi S4.
