Default Targa Top Re-lens Services

Several folks selling the service of 're-lensing' your lexan targa top. You send our faded/cracked top in and they re-use the frame, applying a new lexan lens. Range seems to be $300-$500 - which is a lot cheaper than buying a new top. A few on Ebay, including 'Corvette Tops'. Any guidance on this method? Any success stories - folks to stay away from? Thank in advance!

Agreed. Rich (the owner) let me drop off my top on a Saturday when I happened to be in the area.

When I got the top, admittedly the fit wasn’t to my satisfaction. A quick call to Rich helped me to adjust it in. It’s not 100000% perfect, but it’s good enough where I’d have to point out any issues.

My son said it looked great. When I pointed out a few areas he gave me that “Good Lord, Dad - don’t be so freaking ****” look.

Point made. For the price (less than $400 shipped) it was worth it.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll head in that direction. Out of curiosity, and to set my expectations - what were the imperfections? If I were to use Corvette Tops - I don't have the luxury of dropping it back off if I'm not happy. Like you - I strive for 100000% percent. Blessing and a curse

Mostly the shape of the form. It didn’t completely match the contour of the halo.

It’s certainly not super extreme, but there IS a difference. I ended up having to adjust the rear locators in the car down. I can say the if you’re 5 ft away and I didn’t show it to you, you most likely wouldn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

I’d post pics, but it’s in storage right now and I don’t have access.

I did a lot of research on this a while back. These guys are the only ones that use a gm spec lens. The cheaper ones aren’t the same quality.

Right - I think they do. But there lies the difference between $1000 and $350, right?

Personally I didn’t want to spend the extra. The Corvette Tops setup is good enough for me.

its $599 if you send in yours. It’s worth the few extra bucks so you’re not redoing again in a few years.

Default Targa

I got my 2002 Targa redone with Rich at Corvette tops. It looks like brand new. Found his service on Ebay.
