I recently made a post on my double din install. I mounted the microphone up by the mirror, and ran the wire under the front winshield trim and down the side pillar. It sounds great even with the top down. Placing the mic there and pointed down slightly makes it perfectly in line when speaking. I placed some 3m tape on the bottom side of the u-clip and then slid the u-clip under the header rail.
Mine is same as this.. hid the wire along the top front of headliner and then down the plastic passenger A pillar. And then went down under the dash up into the back of center of dash underneath
Interesting. I didn't want to put mine in the center of the steering wheel because it blocks the one-line DIC. I put mine in the bottom right corner of the instrument panel, but no one can hear me. It's 100% useless. I need to take it out and try a few different areas to test and find a good spot. Will have to try the mirror.
