Default Ever Think About Selling..........

And then come to your senses?

It's winter and the weather sucks today. Haven't driven my car in a few months. Got thinking maybe I'd sell it to free up some garage space and put a few extra bucks in the bank.

Then I went out to the garage and sat in the car for a while and realized that I would miss it, that there is no better bang for the buck, even though there is a bunch of work I want to do to it I really like the car. I know once I get it all dialed in it will provide me with lots of driving pleasure. Can't wait to hit the Sierra's this spring and do some fun roads and explore all the beautiful areas. I got my car last summer and didn't have a chance to really take it anywhere. Actually have only driven it 3 or 4 times.

Help me stifle my winters blues by posting up photos of your cars out on the road in some of your favorite spots (not car shows please )!
This is my last C5 I had about 10 years ago in Sedona, AZ..

Don't even think about it, you will regret it. Mine has been stored away since the beginning of last November and I have not seen it since . Better weather days are soon to be here and you can enjoy it all you want then. The following pics were of my beloved 1965 Impala that I restored myself. I sold it 12 years ago because I hardly drove it and I will regret it until the day that I die.

Noooooo...don't do it....

Dude, you're down the road just a ways from me! We should meet up sometime and play cars!

I got my Z06 this past December and have been spending time sorting it. It'll be used mostly for exploring Nevada's wonderful roads and the Sierras. I might take it to a few track days...maybe...always wanted to drive Sonoma and Laguna Seca. [I spent a lot of time on the track with my last car, a Lotus Exige, so from experience I know that that regular track-time requires seriously stepped-up maintenance and often leads to MOD FEVER...modded my Lotus fairly extensively...not sure I want to go there with my Z06.]

No Sir, I have never had that thought go through my mind. I’ve maintained her for my pleasure for many years to come. 22 years, 50000 miles. Hope to God I have many years and miles to go

Winter can't be that bad in Nevada. Even if it's chilly out you should drive it on a nice day. We've had 64" of snow this Winter in Flagstaff, and I still drive my C5 on a clear dry day. That's better than thinking about selling it.

I'll be celebrating my 1st full year of Corvette ownership in March, and I have to say that my only nagging "regret" is not having a 6 speed manual tranny. Thing is, I couldn't find one that had not been driven very hard, needing extensive transmission work, and I simply fell in love with the color of this one that was an automatic! My wife has a 5 spd Z3, so I take that out when I really need to wind up the gears. I don't think I could ever forgive myself if I traded my "Cordelia" for something else, even if it DID have a manual transmission!

March 2, 2019, holding the title to my very own Vette! A grown man wearing such a silly grin? that's my "five year old" self shining through!

I took it home and pulled off the BSM's!

Let's take those twelve yr old tires off... how about some new replica 2010 GS wheels, too?

yuck...

...yes!

The sun and its reflections make the car look like it's moving even when sitting still

new DRL's to give a nice faceleift

Even in twilight, the Corvette shimmers

The Mustang parked in background was the car that I sold in order to buy Cordelia! The new owner of the Stang is a neighbor, and he brought it by for me to detail. Neither me, nor my family regret making the move to gain our Cordelia!

The high school style hot rod has been replaced by the suave and seriously low-slung sports car!

This was taken in our church parking lot; I continue to marvel at that color!

This is picture from the future--No one has been been able to pry the steering wheel from my cold dead fingers
I'm hopeful that you can rekindle your passion for your own beautiful ride, Spring is just around the corner and you'll be out enjoying the driving experience real soon!

I have a soft spot for Impala's. Way back in 1976 I had this '66 SS396 4 speed. Sure wish I had never sold it!

I'm in northern NV but we do have some nice weather during the winter too. Definitely nice enough to drive the car and I've wanted too but wanted to get the maintenance items taken care of first. I built a 40'x40' shop but haven't finished putting front doors on it yet. Need to get that knocked out then I can start working on the car. I'm sure some seat time in the car will put a smile back on my face!

I have considered selling my C5 vert but was unable to identify a proper replacement so far. I occasionally think about my 66 Malibu SS396 convertible, 68 Buick GS 400 convertible, Olds 442, Charger and seven other Corvettes I wish I still owned then it goes back in the garage until the next time I have the urge to drive it.

My '01 will be put on the market this spring. We are selling the house and moving to South Carolina. After we get situated, I will begin the search for a low mileage C7.

I thought about selling my C5 Z06 in 2008, and did. And REGRETTED THE HELL out of it almost every day. 2019 was the year I decided to build a better version of it - because I missed it so much. I sold it to a forum member here that went inactive in 2016, but he took great care of it and did a ton of work to it. I went through TONS of cars trying to satiate my need for a fun car, and never satisfied it until I bought my current Z last year....now thousands of dollars later in mods I am on my way to building a much better version of my first car. I also regret selling my first car - '67 cuda formula S 340 that I restored with my dad. I found that car rotting away in a field in Michigan a few years ago and it is beyond repair - old mopars tend to rust away to nothing quickly. boo.

don't plan on it but if someone offered enough I might do it... I know I would just go out and get another one and start over so it wouldn't be worth it

Yes. Maybe that's why I'm on my seventh one. I don't become to attached to them, even though I've had this one for almost ten years. We haven't had more than a couple of bad days this winter. You should be driving the crap out of that car!
