2022 C6 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Default Picked up my first Vette

2001 coupe/hatchback. 52k miles. Just brought it home yesterday. It's my first Vette but not first LS1 powered car. I used to have a '90 Nissan 240sx that I swapped an LS1 and T56 into (couple pics of that below also). Everything is super clean on this thing, it appears to be well taken care of. It's 100% stock and exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a 2001+ non-Z06 (because I like the look of the hatchback more than the FRC), black was my #1 choice of color, 6 speed, and low miles for the year so this hit all the points. It has every option also except the magnetic suspension, which I did not want. It runs great, I'll be changing all fluids, spark plugs, filters, etc before I start daily driving it once the roads are ok to drive on (I'm in Maine).

Here's a few pics of my 240sx. It's painted Torch Red btw. A couple vids here also:

I have found one thing wrong. The power door locks do not lock/unlock. I found some info on it but it's all old so the pics don't work. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...or-lock-4.html Anyone have an updated guide on repairing this?

I am on my 1st corvette also.Every time I look at that car I can help but think how nice that car looks. If I had any suggestions for you I would install an lmc5
and read all the sticky threads in this forum. You will find info on the electrical system, how important a good battery is and the problems a low battery will cause.
As far as the door locks, there is a connector in that accordion rubber piece when you open the left door that could be corroded or a number of grounds that could be corroded. You may want to find a service manual set for your car .

Congrats! Looks like a nice car. As a former NH resident, I know you have plenty of great roads up there to enjoy with the car this summer.

I already have one of the LMC5 kits in my Amazon cart actually.

I believe my issue with the door locks is the relays needing to be resoldered as I can hear them click but nothing happens with the locks, which seems to be what resoldering the relays fixes.

Nice ride!! Now you have a real Corvette, not only the paint and powertrain. All the best.

Don't see that very often. A member since 2007 with 12 posts and an LS1 240SX. Picking up their first Corvette in 2020. That's pretty cool you finally got one. Hope you enjoy it.

Run the diags, if its both doors, might be a fuse, might be short..bad battery can cause all kinds of weirdness. if its control from the drivers door, the control pannel might be broken (plastic and can crack), easy to buy on ebay and replace. Great car you are gonna love it. This is great forum for all things C5.

This one looks like it came from a car lot in Auburn ME as I recall 14,995 asking?
