Default Deck lid shock replacement

Hello everyone, i just bought replacement shocks for the deck lid that stores my vert top. I’m not a small guy and the youtube video i watched on how too wasnt too helpful (visually). I can see one end if i pull the driver seat forward but not the other end. Looks like ill have to actually get in the trunk to do it and thats not possible. Plus the video i saw looks like ill have to compress the shock with a belt first. Ive had fusions on my vertebrates so my movement is very limited not to mention the contortions I’d have to do if i even got in there. I hate to bring somewhere for such silly job, so if anyone knows if I’m going about it wrong or a trick to make it more doable I’d appreciate. It’s an 03

sounds like with your limitations you will have to either take it to someone or maybe get one of the neighborhood kids to help out

The end of the strut is in the trunk. With dexterity in your hand, you may be able to catch them, without even looking at them. Otherwise, the help from a neighbor would be the best. It take 5-10min in total. It is better to have another pair of hands anyway to hold the top lid while putting the new struts in place.
start with the top down, top lid closed
first open the trunk and unhook the end of both struts (Top side, left and right)
Slide the new struts parallel to the old.
Hook the new struts on the ball head in the trunk
close the trunk
open the top lid and hold it
unhook the 2 struts from the lid arm ball head.
hook the 2 new struts on the ball-head (should not need a lot of compression)
close the top lid.
you should be done.

my 2 cents
