I was a Mustang guy before I bought Corvettes, so I would like to try out the new ones. Of course a C7 might be the ticket. we will see what happens.
Test drive a ZL1 while your at it, I guess it depends what your looking for. I bought a ZL1 for a back seat for my 9 year old. Its a pony car with a Z06 motor. Ill still always be a corvette guy but its a good option.
One last thing...... If I ever offended anyone or you thought I was being a jerk, I apologise. Sometimes things get heated on the internet. Happy motoring.

Sold it on Facebook Marketplace. Great place to sell vehicles.

JR it's been great having you here, and sorry to see another C5 enthusiast move on but, I'm happy for your sake that the car sold quickly. Best of luck on whatever you decide will replace it.
Good luck with your next car whether it's a Mustang or C7. I have a feeling it will be a C7 so don't be so quick to delete your account.

You are right. I am going to stay and follow the C7 forum to learn more about it, so I can be informed if I decide to buy one.
No more posting on the C5 forum, even though it's a hard habit to break.. There are people a lot smarter than me on this forum and I learned from them. They made owning a C5 much more enjoyable and gave me the courage to attempt things I would never have tried. Replacing the EBCM comes to mind.
Glad to hear you will be staying. I no longer have a C5 but C5 General is still my favorite section and I still love the C5. My three favorite Corvettes were my '74 Coupe,my '02 Z06 and my '99 Coupe. The C6 and C7 are great looking and great performing Corvettes but the C5 is much simpler and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up back in a C5 Z06 or a Lingenfelter C5 someday or maybe a C3 Restomod. Right now I enjoy racking up the miles in my '06 Convertible. It's a great car and awesome driver. I do prefer the C6 shifter and the spark plugs and exhaust manifolds appear to be more easily accessible.
Not sure Mustangs have had proper back seat room since the 5.0 Fox bodies.
Despite enthusiasm from some posters for the current Camaro, it would not be my choice - too high a waistline and too small windows, and cramped in the rear. I read an article the other day pointing out that if you really want an old style muscle car, buy a Challenger. Mustangs and Challengers outsell Camaros, hands down, BTW.
p.s. I've always enjoyed your posts. We all don't all have to have the same priorities; a bit of variety, not to say dissent is good for the soul.

Thanks for the kind words.
Must get a convertible for cruisin the Blue Ridge mountains.. Not a lot of choices if you want to haul some passengers once in awhile. I have loved Challengers ever since I saw the original Vanishing Point back in the early 70s. If they offered a convertible I would definitely consider it. Buying a house will be first priority and then the search for the right sports car will commence.

I remember a drive from the DC area down through the Blue Ridge en route to a conference in the last '80's. Rental was a Hertz 5.0 Tbird. Colleague also heading to the same place in a Town Car. Anyway, after miles of brake, accelerate, turn, I arrived at the conference location. Came to a stop at the gatehouse and the car was absolutely enveloped in blue smoke from the front pads. I thought the brakes were heading south and indeed they were. The Town Car then rolled up - another huge cloud of smoke! The security guard was not impressed, thought the two of us were hooligans and not the buttoned down exec types who had rented the facility.
WRT buying a house. Strange things are happening in the market right now. A friend put a house up for sale here recently, and far from cheap. I thought it was maybe too expensive for the area. It sold in a matter of weeks - for cash. Heard about a couple more just the same in the 20 mile radius. I would have expected the market to be dead, but apparently not so. The bargain hunters are definitely out and about.
Anyway, good luck!

Our potential buyer is coming over tomorrow to work out the details. They are paying cash and want to rent it to us for up to a year until the wife retires. This gives up plenty of time to find the right house and see if there is going to be another housing crash. The buyer seemed too good to be true and tomorrow we will find out. I live in a city that is booming and real estate is still really hot.
