Paid $16,000 7 years ago, drove it 34K miles and sold it for $12,000 to the first people that looked at it. Easy Peasy. Had a dozen people inquire about it in the first hour. Probably could have got more for it, but I figure I got my money out of it. Not sure what will replace it. Maybe a C7 or Mustang GT Vert so I can haul more people.
Sold it on Facebook Marketplace. Great place to sell vehicles.

You're not hauling anymore people in the Mustang that's for sure unless you mean very small children. I know from my daughter's.
BTW...we will keep your spot for you here in the asylum...you will be back.
Selling the house and moving south. The C5 was a great car and we had some great road trips with it. Time to make some changes. That was my last C5......the end of an era.
Sad to hear that news, JR. We're going to miss your presence here. How far south are you moving?
I know some people aren't going to miss my presence and that's OK. I did try to help.
We are looking at homes in Savannah Lakes Village in Mccormick South Carolina. The buyer won't be ready to move into my home for a year so we can rent it up until then. Gives us time to find right place. Haven't been there yet, but we definitely will need another Sports Car. Two hours from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Congrats on the sale and good luck not only with the move, but with your next car purchase.
Hope you will stick around on the forum - no reason to leave just because you do not have a Vette. You can still offer up your advice and opinions to those having questions.

Not far from me, in upstate near Clemson. Good luck with the move.

Thanks!! I learned a lot here and saved a bunch of money doing things I would have never attempted. Some great guys in this forum.
After today I am going to delete my account, so I don't get tempted to spend time here that is needed elsewhere. If or when I get another Corvette I will be back.

What year was it?
How many miles on it when you sold?
Manual or Automatic?
Only $4000 in depreciation over 7 years and 34,000 miles is impressive.
'01 Automatic. Had 50K miles on it when I bought it 7 years ago and 84K when I sold it. Seems when C5s get to a certain point depreciation slows down. With all the interest, there were 5 people that wanted to come look at it after the first hour I listed it. I think I could have gotten 2-3 thousand more. But it may have taken longer to sell. I priced it to sell to avoid the stress.
Now that I've thought about it, I think the guy I let test drive it was drunk. They live two hours away in Minn where the bars are closed. Here in Wis, it's wide open and they had lunch at a bar before they came. He got real nervous and didn't want to take it out on a country road to open it up a little. Then he panicked and told me he had to turn around. He made an illegal u-turn on a side road and the car behind almost hit us. The other guy blasted his horn. Didn't bother me at the time, but it could have been disaster. I should have driven for the test drive, but I told him he should. When we got back he gave me $12K in cash. Deposited it this morning. Teller thought I was a local drug dealer.
