I was just today putting together the parts list to make mine a vert. It actually looks like it will be much easier and cheaper than I thought. I'm at about $4K in parts after 20% discount. I haven't dissassembled mine yet and have three questions. Would you be so kind as to provide the answers?
1. The Windshield frame is the same part # for coupe, HT, and vert, so when I remove the trim, are the holes and threads there to mount the latch striker plates, or will I have to fit and weld nuts to mount the strikers?
2. According to my parts book, the inner lock pillars are the same for all three models. If that's the case, how do the vert top (main) hinges mount to the pilars? I'm guessing there is another bracket that isn't listed in my book. If so, do you have a part #?
3 The SMC rear upper surround (top of quarters and deck lid hinges bolt to it), is a different part number for the HT and vert. Is the difference subtle enough that you can modify the HT surround for a vert top? Same with the crossbrace that goes between the lock pilars.
