Default Dividers - Best One?

I have an unidentified compartment divider which came with my Z06. Having insulated and sound deadened the car, it now fits very firmly where before it was a bit loose. Probably a good thing.

I don't know if I will keep it or not, but I like the idea of it and this one appears decently made. Heavy wood. Exact match carpeting on the back side for the trunk. The driver side has the Z06 emblem smack in the middle though and I hate everything having a badge or logo on it. I doubt it can be removed without marring the faux vinyl finish it is mounted to.

I'll probably just turn the whole thing around so the carpet faces the cabin and hide the logo.

But who makes the best dividers out there? I presume all are not equal.

Not sure what qualifies as 'best'. I chose the partition from southern car parts because it's just plain carpet front and back that matches the cars carpet, it fit well enough and I think it looks like it came with the car from the factory, so for me that made it the best. Normally it's jammed into the opening and a couple Velcro strips to hold the top in place but I occasionally track the car and needed it to be more secure so I installed a couple rivnuts to the rear trim panel and attach the partition with thumb screws. It should stay secure if I happen to go off-roading.

I chose the divider from Exotic Vette for my '02 Z06. It is lightweight, rigid and sturdy, nicely finished, stays in place with friction / pressure fit, and can be easily and quickly removed should I need the trunk area to be wide open. It's construction is more in line with the Z06 philosophy (lighter weight and utilitarian), and that appealed to me. I really like it.

The cabin now cools down much faster since cool air isn't wafting into the trunk, the stereo sounds fuller since sound from the rear speakers is being deflected into the cabin instead of ricocheting around into the vastness of the trunk, security is improved since stuff that is stored in the trunk is out of sight when the car is parked, and the interior has a "finished" feel to it that is in line with the FRC design. I didn't find that there was a significant change in cabin road noise, but that I wasn't expecting that there would be.

Oh...the divider does not have emblems (the car already has enough of them)!

Also curious to hear some thoughts. I got mine about 6 years ago and came with a sturdy wood based one.... I guess after many years of humid FL weather, the wood finally warped quite a bit so I threw it out a few months ago.

I bought my partition from Southern Car Parts about eleven years ago. I still have it and the C5Z, and I've been very happy with both.

bjones7131 - I don't know what I'm doing with it. I flipped it around for now. And I also recognized that the first look at the carpet appeared a perfect match, but on second view it is not the same. The divider is the least of my concerns right now so I probably won't do anything about it until the car is running. Possibly sell and replace. Or possibly get good trunk carpet from a wreck and re-wrap it so it looks right.

I thought of adding some sort of partition a few years ago. I opted for storage behind the seats instead. Having additional storage inside the cabin is a great plus.

I thought about it. But then I'd be temped to pack the car full of stuff I don't need. Having the divider at least keeps stuff within reach if I need it. It I WERE ever to add a tray, it would be a light aluminum frame with a keypad for Pew-Pew transport.
