Another vote for Dr Colorchip. Easy to use by following instructions and can view a video in its use. My C5 is black and the Dr Colorchip product provided exact color match and invisible stone chip repairs. Terrific product and you can call them and speak with someone if you have any questions.

Tony, I've had a proper color match with automotive touchup. Com

As you can see, I ordered the "chevy 91" and it was a dead on match for our Dark Bowling Green Metallic.
I think Dr Colorchip is better for non-metallic colors, as the application process doesn't really allow the metal flake to "blend" evenly. Hope that helps!

I can't thank you guys enough for all of your input. I just placed an order thru automotivetouchup.com. Since all I have is a few very small stone chips on the headlight covers and on the rockers I opted for the paint and clear coat pen. Can't wait to see how it turns out. cheers to all.

I agree. Unlike the typical touch up that usually leaves a less than perfect glob over the chip, with Dr. Color Chip, you apply the paint next to the chip and then rub the paint in, filling the chip. You then wipe off the excess paint. It's great for chip repairs.

I have the same pen for my MSG C5 and the paint is not even close! It look like a darker gray so if I use it to fill in a mark or chip, instead of a mark or chip, I now have a darker gray mark.

Thus the move over the Dr. Color Chip.

For larger projects or custom paint mods, I usually go with Automotive Touch up and buy the 12 oz spray cans.

That’s because it’s a 3 stage paint process that you can’t duplicate with a simple touch up paint.

Do you have any pictures of the painted console installed in your car? I'm intrigued by that idea.

On my ‘08 I usually first applied a dull white, then the yellow, then clear. It wasn’t perfect but it was a good improvement.
