just took ownership of a 97 with 46k original on it. i just love it. have had the muscle cars forever and just wanted something a couple notches up for my retirement (i'm 74). i can't believe the wife loves it cause she's never been a fan of my hot rods. i had built turbo 350's trans. for many years and had very good luck with them and i would like just a little more firmness with this trans in my 97. btw it's an automatic. don't need a bunch just a little more. have heard that the right person can do that with the right knowledge and right equipment in hand. it just feels the trans. is suited more for comfort than a little performance. anybody know someone in the 43112 area zip that knows their stuff and could make this mod. don't know how i ended up with this vette but i'm glad i did. would really like to keep my hands away from the computer stuff as i don't want to really mess something up. thanks in advance. Denny
cdw, it looks like you're pretty close to Canal Winchester. Bob McDorman Chevrolet may be a possibility since he was/is? very big into the Corvette scene when I lived in OH. I took my 74 down there a couple of times.
You might also want to consider a handheld tuner. A DiabloSport Predator 2 can change your transmissions behavior and throw in a couple more ponies for good measure. And it's plug and play. It tightened up the shifts in my 99 automatic. You can find them new for about $350.
i was wondering what hand held tuner would be good for this. thanks for the reply. when searching for an affordable tuner i saw where some would install a shift kit. i'll google for a shift kit for a 97 vette and see what comes up.
