Default Delco "red" wires

I see a lot of recommendations for Delco "Red" plug wires for our LS1. My first four "go to" sites one have AC Delco 7MM and they are all black.

Do these red ones still exist?

Aren't they sold under the "GM Performance" label?

The MSD wires are also great. A lot of people here use the GM Red or the MSD. MSD PN 32819

I found them from GMpartsdirect.com - for half the price of most places! Go get 'em!

As near as I have been able to find, the color and around $40, with the black at $115 and the red at $75 (Amazon pricing). Both are very low resistance with plug ends fitted to the factory heat shields.

Do not buy any but GM original. I bought mine back in 2005 for 40 bucked shipped and still going strong without heat shields. Cant even tell you how many times they were pulled of to work on engine. JMO on the quality of them. And i think OMH WAS 25. Plus im pushing 25 lbs boost of over 1000hp with stock coils from 1999. The fins on my coils are breaking and plus the rust on them is probably what's keeping the spark contained from grounding .

After some research, I too recommend the red GM wires. Put them on my black 99 and when it comes time to do the wires on my other two Vettes, I'll be installing the red wires again.

Just want to share that no heat shield is needed. Closest one is about 1/8 away.. No touching ever. Just my experience with wires. And if it is not broke, don't fix it.

Nearly the last place I would go. Possibly worse than CorvetteMods, but not by much.

I also had the red GMPP wires...they lasted about 1,000 miles before catching fire on the dyno one day...I'm probably the only one that's ever happened to...but it happened lol. Just thankful it didn't happen on the road where I wouldn't see it until it was too late or have something to put it out with. They were replaced with MSD wires with boots that can be bent for more clearance.

one and done...if you do not have headers they ill be fine. I have been through Hinson wires(msd clones) and 2 sets of GM reds in the past 3 years. Either broke when coming off or were causing a missfire. They are a alot, but youll probaby never need another set for the life of the car.
