I went through 3 red tops in 4 years. Total garbage. The yellow top has lasted 3 years so far.
From Optima.... The REDTOP battery is what Optima considers their starting battery. ... The YELLOWTOPbattery, on the other hand, is Optima's high-performance battery. A true dual-purpose automotive battery, the YELLOWTOP battery is recommended for accessory-heavy vehicles, or for vehicles running a lot of battery-draining electronics.
The way I read this, Yellow top would be the better choice. I see a lot of people using the Red top, not sure why....
FYI - your Diehard IS an Odyssey battery. It was just relabeled for Sears. That joint venture ended 6-7 years ago though. Odyssey batteries are THE best AGM lead acid car battery on the market.
That's what I said - to get that battery you need to buy an Odyssey.
The JV ended because Sears warranty was so good (4 years full replacement) that many of them were bought for boats and campers and treated as deep discharge batteries - and they died within warranty. In cars, they were no trouble at all.

Just purchased the Odyssey ODX-AGM 34-78, $305 ...ouch.!!!!!!
I've got the Die Hard AGM. I haven't had any issues with it in the 2+ years I've had it. I do see evidence of a previous battery leak in my car, but it wasn't from the battery that was in there when I purchased it. What is interesting is when I've pulled the battery do do diagnostic work, I've ended up with pull key, wait 10 seconds and a C1255 error that has never showed back up otherwise. I've left my car on a tender anytime it's been sitting for more than a week and it's treated me well, even with a pretty solid audio system in the car.
Anecdotal evidence from the forums is that Optima's quality has decreased significantly in the past few years. The more recent batteries have not held up as well as the older ones that made their reputation. Whether that's simply a case of complaints outweighing the positives, I don't know, but it was enough to sway me away from them.

The old USA-made Optimas were great batteries but the new ones made in Mexico, not so much. $307 for an Odyssey? Uhh, no.
I replaced the 8yr old Autocraft Gold AGM in my car, with another one 2yrs ago. Paid $125 and it does what it's supposed to. YMMV
