Has anyone ran white rims on their cars? I'm drafting my winter build sheet for my yellow C5 and deciding if I should go with the classic black wheels, or try something I haven't seen before with white rims. Does anyone have any pics or links to examples? I haven't seen any white set ups before!
What color wheels you put on your car, is strictly whatever makes YOU happy. Having said that, I've never understood the black wheel thing. To me, black wheels, with black tires, simply makes the wheel wells look like two black "voids" on the side of the car. White wheels, with black tires, on a yellow car that has large areas of black on it (roof and windows) ??? Too much "color confusion" going on, with the added benefit of brake dust "tinting" your white wheels. Not for me, but as I said, it's YOUR car.

Yeah my thought also. Brake dust would be a non-stop chore with white wheels!

Yeah black, to me, while classic seems a bit too common for my taste. I really want something unique. I've seen a few yellow cars with white rims (Honda ITR) and it looks awesome. If I did get white rims, they wouldn't be a cheap knock off or anything so I would be getting them ceramic coated. Hopefully that would help a little with the maintenance of keeping them clean. I'm mostly just looking to see if anyone else had a similar idea!
Dude, that is awesome! That helps a ton, thank you! What app is that?
Edit: I was thinking of rims in the style of Fifteen52 Chicanes or similar wide-spoked 5 points. I always have liked the center lock 5 point Speedlines (Definitely not running a center lock set up though).

I’ll have to look up the wheels you refer to.
The app is called WHEELS ON! and there are tons of other wheels in it’s database. I sorted just for white.
Regarding brake dust, unless you get wheels the color of brake dust, I think there’s no escaping it. On my ‘78 Scout2, I had white wagon wheels and the brake dust was not my major cleaning task for them, even when I was on road exclusively for a long period of time. Black on the other hand....just breathe on it and you have dust!

Wheels like these would be what I'm looking for. I've always loved that touring car-esque look and I am trying to emulate that. Obviously I'm not spending 5k on wheels 😂
I figured it would be extra maintenance, but I keep a strict regimen on maintaining the car as it is so it wouldn't be much more work.
Yellow and white theme would look great. Perhpas wrapping the side mirrors white would help with the theme. Done right, this would be a hot look. I like the larger spoked wheels and think the more wheel the better. Can’t be subtle. MY plays well with bold contrast! Go for it.

A friend of mine had a set of white magnesium Dymag wheels on his white C4 ZR-1 and it looked pretty good. However, I'm not a big fan of white wheels, either.
