Nice work, was this your first time doing these upgrades? What’s the difficulty level and how long would you say it took?

First time doing it anything like this. I have the service manuals and watched videos and read up on it. Talked to my tuner and Texas speed beforehand. Everything went smooth, not like the horror stories and problems I was reading about. I guess you never hear about projects that go well. I had my parts and tools ready before I started. Lots of disassembly to get to the cam but I took my time, kept track of hardware, everything came out and went in perfect. Probably a week start to finish. Maybe one full day and the rest after my normal job in the evenings.
Was pretty nervous when I turned the key to start it. I’ll try to upload the video of it running when I get home, it’s not letting me here for some reason.

I am having a tough time getting a hold of that trunion upgrade kit. Everyone is out of everything. I am doing a similar build to yours right now. Where did you find it? I am sitting here with an engine in pieces because I can’t find the cam I want or the trunion upgrade kit.

Nice work. Good luck getting things buttoned up and the car out on the road again.

I ordered the trunnion kit and everything else from Texas speed. 3 weeks ago when I placed the order, they said all my parts were in stock except for the damper. Told them to keep my parts and I’d get them when the damper arrived. Went up the next week when the damper arrived and they had given my trunnion kit to someone else. I had to wait another week for the trunnion kit to arrive. They said everyone is buying them right now.
I installed the TSP Torquer V2 cam.

Thanks. I am looking at a Texas Speed cam too. I think its the 228 R. I will be watching to see how it all goes for you. Looks like you are about a month ahead of me.

The pics were while I was working on it in case I wasn’t clear. It’s all back together and running. Didn’t want to post pics before I was done n case I effed it up. Just waiting for a tune appointment next week.

Great job! A lot of the horror stories are overblown. LS engines are very simple to work on. That's part of what makes them great.

You'll enjoy it when it's tuned. I've put 4,000 miles on my Torquer V4 cammed car while daily driving it. Usually this time of year I'd be over 12k miles, but, the 'rona kind of put a damper on that. lol
