Default Corvette Creationz Rear Diffuser Installation

I recently purchased a carbon fiber rear diffuser from Pete at Carbon Creationz. Once it arrived I noticed it was a slightly different mold then ones I have seen on the forum. The diffuser I received does not have any mounting tabs. I have reached out to Pete with no response and was curious if any forum members were familiar with how to mount this diffuser.

This is the version I have seen on the forums with mounting tabs

This is the one I received with no mounting tabs 1 of 2

This is the one I received with no mounting tabs 2 of 2

Any insight is appreciated.

I haven't ever installed one of these, so I could be totally wrong, but the one you have has a raised bit on the entire center section that seems like it would be better than just a few tabs at hooking under the stock rear bumper. It sucks that it doesn't have the screws though. You may have to attach it using adhesive strips similar to what holds on the BSMs Just a thought.

That first picture looks really familiar! FYI that diffuser was acquired in July 2019.

Strange that yours doesn't have the mounting blocks. That's supposed to be a primary method of attaching it to the rear bumper (through the bumper's lower holes). Also weird that yours doesn't have mounting at the corners.

Hey OP,

You are better off with the version you have over the previous version of the CF diffuser. Those blocks that was used to secure the diffuser to the rear bumper were not such a good design.

Source some VHB adhesive to mount the top lip/portion of the diffuser to the rear bumper. Also and to be safe, drill two holes at the bottom on the left and right of the diffuser, source two long bolts and nuts to secure the diffuser to the bottom edge of the rear bumper for some extra peace of mind.

This is how I did it with mine.

PM me if you have any questions.

Looking at the pictures, it looks like the holes on the left and right are already there.

Thank you for the insight, I was worried this version was missing the mounting tabs but was hopeful that it was just an updated version. I will be mocking up the diffuser this weekend and will certainly reach out if I have any questions.

Thanks again!

Clarification on the install:

On the first version of the CF Corvette Creationz rear diffuser, I had to drill the 2 holes on the diffuser to attach it to the rear bumper because the contour of the diffuser did not match up with the rear fascia without being forced.

On the current version of the rear diffuser which i received as a replacement for the original version, the contour was much better and so the only thing that i used to mount the diffuser is the VHB adhesive tape and DID NOT drill into the diffuser.

Again, PM me with questions. Good luck.
