Absolutely worth the effort but to do it safely you should have it done on a lift. It's a really easy job and takes less than an hour to do. I did it because I never have liked the oval tips. Not much of a difference with noise while at highway speeds unless you like a loud, droning obnoxious exhaust. Sounds really sweet though at idle and wide open throttle.
Try and get one with the ‘bypass’ mod done already if you can. Had it done on mine a few years ago and sounds much better with it. Might be hard to find but it’s worth it.
I did the swap on mine. It looks better, it's lighter, and does sound a bit better (although the difference is subtle until you hit WOT. Post a WTB in the for sale section of the forum. If you're patient, you can get a good price.

I hate being ignorant, but can you tell me about “bypass” please?

it’s a modification to the factory exhaust that partially bypasses the mufflers. Allegedly it adds a little sound on hard acceleration but remains drone free. The picture I posted has the bypass pipes welded in

Love the Green. I looked all over for a green one--had to settle for Torch Red.

Yep that’s the mod. With LT headers I think the modded ti exhaust sounds perfect to me. Had the ti mod done when I had stock exhaust manifolds and it was a very noticeable difference in sound above 3000 rpm. With LT’s it really screams from 3k to redline. No drone at all though on the highway which is great.
There's a reason we Z06 owner's pull ours off- it's too quiet to our liking.
LOL, well I guess that’s a bit subjective. I’m very happy with the stock exhaust. There are many great choices if you want a louder sound and that’s cool. To each their own!
