Hi Gang !!
Its been awhile since I've been here but I need help finding a Bat Wing Oil Pan "cover". The finned aluminum part where the drain plug in located. I may not be calling the part the right name, but surely there's a aftermarket company that makes this piece.
Yesterday we hit a large rock that was in the middle of the road. The Pickup truck ahead of us went right over and I had zero response time when I seen it. It was "BOOM !!" then the cockpit filled with smoke !!! First reaction was shut down the engine and roll - open the windows and de-smoke the cockpit. Got to the shoulder and told my wife to bale out and run !! Popped the hood and tried to get out - I'm a dummy ! I didn't unbuckle my seatbelt. We got out safely and Praise the Lord, my Baby didn't catch fire. GEICO got her home and she's up on the lift. There's a hole in the "pan cover" the size of a fist, the oil filter is smashed on one side and the X pipe (exhaust) looks like someone took a hammer to it back to the rear hanger.
Sorry, didn't mean to get carried away. Need the correct name for the oil pan cover and if anyone knows of aftermarket product.
Thanks Gang !! Looking Forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for getting back to me so fast !! I'll get ahold of the people you suggested. Hopefully they can find one. As for the baffles, or "Trap Doors", I will definitely be putting them in. I live in the High Desert of AZ and we have some of the best mountain curves that will pull a couple G's. I've just got to get my little girl back to life. Heartbroken right now. The dark area close to the oil filter is the hole in the lower pan.
Don't see anywhere that just sells the bottom. Maybe vettenuts.net would sell one. You mentioned Geico got it home for you, its accident damage why not let them worry about it?
