Not sure of best memory keeper/saver for my 1999 Corvette. Has anyone had experience with the OBD2 type products ? Are the 9 volt battery units that plug into the cigarette lighter sufficient for this purpose ? I only will have the battery out of the car for two minutes or less. Please recommend brands that are reliable.
I want to avoid any problems with procedure in the future.
I honestly don't think it will be necessary. I've had my battery disconnected or out of the car for much longer than 2 minutes. I've never had any issues, and I have an aftermarket tune in the car.
If you want to save you clock timer and radio settings you can get a cigarette plug and add the 9V cap to it. I have had one for my Corvettes for the last 40 yrs. Had the battery out for hours during my HUD add on and did not lose any time or setting.
battery memory holder is not required if you have OEM electronics installed. I disconnect my battery during storage every winter and have no problems when it's reconnected after several months.
