Default New Wheels

Need help. Want to put new wheels on C5. Original rear is 18x9.5 with +65 offset. New wheels are 18x9.5 with +57 offset. Want to keep same size tires of 275/40zr18. Will these work?

I would ask a tire store in your area, perhaps ask two stores, and see they tell you the same answer!

You're talking about a difference of 8mm. That means the new wheel will sit 8mm further outside the rear wheel well from the existing setup.

It will be fine. No need to call anyone.

I never understood why GM used two rear wheels of the same width, with the same tire size, but different offsets. Seems a little strange.

I'm sure GM specified what they wanted and the manufacturer built them to that spec.

Maybe that size/offset pattern is stock on another GM vehicle. and it's close enough for c5. Don't know, just guessing.

If I had to choose between the two offsets, I would choose the +57 on a 9.5" width wheel. If the wheel was 11" wide, my preference would be the +65.
