I think C5 prices have actually gone up a bit due to problems with new car availability. Will that last long - probably as long as the new car shortage continues and then prices will return to normal (i.e., lower).
The C5 at this point, and perhaps for a long, long time, is not a collectible, even though it is a very good performance value.
You know at this point I really don't care one bit what my car is worth. When I drop the top and take it out after a wash and wax I feel like it's worth a million. And I feel like a million too.
Got my shades on and the wind thru my hair (what's left up there)... And I always receive compliments on my pristine '98...
Happy Christmas to all my fellow Corvette Club members...
Very nicely said and my sentiments exactly. Best wishes!
Values have been up the last few months, but I certainly wouldn't hold onto the car because the value might go up. These are not investment cars. With that said, if you like the car, keep it. I don't care what my car is worth. I don't ever have plans to sell it. Don't get me wrong, if someone came and offered me $60K+ for it I wouldn't say no. That's never gonna happen though. Just enjoy your car. If you want to get rid of it, now (or sometime in early Spring) isn't a bad time to do it.
Gotta own it because you love it. If there are other priorities so be that's life. You can always get another one. I kept mine because it's a little sentimental and I still enjoy it and didn't need the money. I will probably sell it just to make room when the c8z06 comes out unless I come up with some other garage solution.
