I have the speed engineering headers. The fit great and perform good. I did not use the xpipe that came with the kit. I already had magnaflow xpipe and exhaust. I had my buddy at his muffler shop weld it up. I would definitely buy the speed engineering header again for a budget build.

"Cheapest" I would go is TPS or Hinson headers. I run TPS 1 7/8" with ZERO fitment issues to AC lines or steering shaft and tuck up very high for ground clearance. Drop right in without disconnecting anything.

No ebay/Texas Speed/OBX/Speed Engineering.

The performance gains between a Kooks/ARH/SW and a Hinson/TPS is not worth the added cost since all will have good fitment IMO. Once you get into TSP/ebay stuff performance may suffer more AND you have the risk of fitment issues. The gains simply going to a LT header WILL be noticeable whether it be a cheap header or expensive one.

You are paying for quality stainless material and quality control fitment the higher you go up the price range. So prioritize performance/fitment/cost however you like.

TPS headers are what I was considering doing for my 2007 auto as well. They have some good deals often so I am just waiting got them to offer another sale and I think I am going to pull the trigger.

Link for what I am considering - TPS Motorsports

Speed Engineering headers don't have fitment issues. Plus they work.

i have been comparing all the long tubes for the last 6 months. most of them look the same. not much at all different. just mostly in the collector area.just had a set of 1 3/4 s.s lt delivered to my door for 260. they look very good. my nephew is a pro. tig welder and i had him look at the welds and he said they looked very good. i have had cheap headers go on very easy and very expensive ones be a pita. do your homework and watch the many videos about the install. it got to the point where i copied about a dozen pics.of different lt's of c5 headers and compared them to each other and could not find a dimes worth of difference. buy what makes you feel good about the purchase.

In have LG on my C5, used OBX on my grand prix GTP and they were great. Take a shot if others have had good experiences.

the headers in the y-tube video you posted look like mid length headers. mine and many other e-bay headers are much longer. i like his videos anyway. watch where the collector ends up with long tubes. long tube headers have the collector extend into the factory cat. area which i did not like. wanted to use my factory cats. will have to spring for a couple aftermarket cats. now extra hundred bucks i wanted to avoid.
