Removing flame tail light inserts
Hello..I just purchased a C5 with the stainless flame inserts on the tail light lenses..how are these removed? Will they leave any damage behind on the lenses? Thank you

Unscrew the tail lights on the bench and use heat and some fishing line to pull them off, if they are adhesive backed.
And may the Flying Spaghetti Monster bless you for removing those atrocities.

It looks like if you remove the tail light screws they will come off

Use a heat gun, gingerly as you don't want to mess up the housings.

I’ve seen some oem tail lights sell for less than $100 so if you can’t get them all the way clean you always have a back up.
or you could spend a bit extra and get some nice LED tail lights to upgrade.

I wouldn't be too worried. Some goo gone and PLASTIC razor blades can take care of any leftover adhesive. Worst case, scuff them up with 600 grit and spray 'em:

I recommend halo tail lights. However, I'm pretty sure with a little bit of effort, it shouldn't be hard to get the adhesive off. They're probably held by the screws too. Congrats on the Vette, and very good choice to remove those.

remove lenses, try a hair dryer first, work them off & clean off the goo
I've had to remove many emblems/decals/stick on doo-dads over the days, it's very doable without damage
good luck!

Goo-B-Gone or 3M Adhesive Remover will make short work of the residue. An old credit card makes a good scraper.

Good move, those are pure rice. I don't even know if I could drive it home like that, it's a Vette not a beat up fart canned Civic!

I have lots of stainless steel on my 02 show car but even I find those Looks like there are caps over the screws so pop those off. Unscrew and I'm guessing 60/40 that there is no adhesive (at least my SS covers do not use adhesive)
