Congrats on a GREAT new car. Also, welcome to the forum. Good advice so far. Fluids, tires, hoses, and pretty much anything rubber. The LMC5 should also be done to prevent column lock. I would also run a bottle of Techron to clean your fuel system. You should also replace your battery with an AGM battery ASAP. A leaking battery can kill a C5. Also, a good battery can prevent/fix a lot of problems with these cars. You got a wonderful car. I'm glad to hear that you plan to actually drive it. Let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help.
Don't forget to SAVE THE WAVE!
What a great find and color combo with a manual trans . I am surprised at how many extremely low mileage one or two owner C5's are out there.
The tire date code shows the 26th week of 2001. Those tires are original and 20 years old. The outer mounted wheel weights give it away as well.
I would ask the originl owner for maintenance schedule or documentation if possible. I would change the engine oil and oil filter, the Dexcool antifreeze and brake fluid to start. You should check the air filter for unwanted visitors. Beautiful C5, enjoy it.
What a great looking car and love the color combo. I also just bought my first vettte 2 weeks ago. Such a fun car to drive. I don't know why it took me so long.
Congrats on your beautiful C5. Lots of great and important suggestions posted above by forum members. Paying attention to the advice above will save you trouble down the road. Good uck with your new ride and enjoy!
Joe, the best thing you did was 1-buy that gorgeous car, and 2- Joined this forum.
You can easily see we all love our cars. Despite the repetition, I agree with all stated above, in particular what Stingroo stated about tires. In my case I bought a 1 owner with 47k on the original tires and went straight to the tire dealer the next day.
Do the LMC5 MOD. Call RICHARD at Complianceparts.com and he will sell you the unit and has the patience of Job with whatever questions you have. Best customer service I’ve ever experienced.
Fluids: I had EVERY fluid replaced, which it seems you took care of.
I suggest you replace the serpentine belt. Many of our cars have the pulleys that this belt wraps around go bad, but your metal parts are still ‘new’. As good as they are now, I wouldn’t trust a 19 year old belt.
Read the stickies!!
My C5 I bought in 2011 was my first Corvette as well. Once the car is safe, with new tires, DRIVE IT. First of all there’s nothing like it, and there’s so much to be learned.
There’s a wealth of information here and I can tell you that the cars of the people above are some terrific examples, whether you want to personalize, customize, hot rod or race. Good luck!
Haven't had a chance to drive it much yet. Should I be concerned with the age of the clutch and brake pads? I know I have had trucks that were over 20 years old and never replaced the clutch but not sure on this car.

I don't think I'd touch either of those items but you might want to have the clutch fluid changed.
My first was a white with red interior coupe, they look clean all the time. Welcome to Corvette ownership. They are addicting, I’m on my 4th and loved every one. No other car will be the same for you!
has the car been driven or is it a sort of barn find? FWIW I’m second owner of an ‘02 with 47k, and when I got it, after replacing the original tires, I had EVERY fluid changed and after thorough inspection changed the brake pads. I agree that most modern clutches last for a long time, but I think the other stuff should be replaced. Btw, I prefer DOT4 fluid in the hydraulic lines.
The 1st owner, previous to my buying it, drove it very little but did change oil and do all maintenance yearly at local dealership. I did change all fluids and tires considering they were original.
