So i decided to do the LMC5 install today. I haven't had any issues, it was preventative/piece of mind. I had trouble on the second wire (purple). I had already done the orange, so kinda knew what i was doing. Tried and tried and couldn't get the purple wire out. Ended up calling Compliance and talked to Richard (wasn't sure anyone would answer, being a holiday.) He told me the trick was pushing the wire in, to make sure it was seated, before inserting the release tool/allen wrench. Hung up from him and got back to it. after another half hour of no luck I figured i had 2 options: cut the purple wire and splice on the new purple from the module. Or yank the purple wire out. I wanted to yank so bad but figured i could damage the connector. And figured Richard would say No No, never yank the wire. Anyway, called Richard back and to my surprise, he told me to yank it out. I did and it came out easier than i had expected. Anyway, it's all set now. no error codes. Just thought I'd share. And a big shout out to Richard at Compliance.
Good job GM should have done the LMC5 in a recall for all of the C5s. The fix GM had in their recall didn't do diddley, in fact, I got stuck with the column lock AFTER I got done the GM recall done for the column lock.
Hard to go wrong with Richard at Compliance. They give and practice a fine example of customer service. I also had to get on the phone with Richard during my installation and he guided us through it. Terrific attitude and service and a great example to other vendors about taking care of their customers.
I bought one and a skip shift eliminator kit, put the LMC5 on summer 2018, actually I had forgotten about the skip shift eliminator until now. Lol
Need to put it on the C5.
By the way, never had another column lock issue again after putting LMC5 on car.
