Default Thoughts on c8?

New to vette ownership but been a vette fan my whole life. I’m 32 and grew up dreaming of owning a split window, a c5 z06, a c6 zr1, and a c7 z06. One day I think I will get the c7 but I made the c5 happen. Now I understand the original ideas in building the corvette were to be a mid engine car, and I don’t take away from the fact that the performance of the c8 is impressive, but I just can’t like it. I feel it should of branded a different name other than corvette and stayed true to the c7 looks. Also The car looks like an NSX and no manual transmission option? I know the automatic trans of today is impressive with quick shifts and manual modes but I just feel like it takes away from the true driving experience. And allows anyone to believe they are capable of driving these Heavy horsepower cars just because they can click it in drive. Idk just spitballing here but would love to hear some feedback. Yay or nay with the c8 guys

Should have put this in the C8 section.

I like them. Haven't seen one in person yet but looking forward to it. My buddy that owns a Viper saw one on the road last Friday. He called me and we discussed the car and he ordered one on Saturday!

I think it is an amazing car at a incredible price but I don't think I'll ever own one unless I won the lottery or something. If I'm going to spend that much money I'd rather have a '67 big block coupe.

I like the C8. I did to get to see one up close while at a red light. They definitely look better in person. I think for the price and performance you get it's a great buy. Some will hate it, some will love it. If given the opportunity I definitely would like to drive one.

I totally love the C8. Just my opinion but it is bad-azz all the way around... full 360 degrees! Sure it doesn't have a stick but when you consider all its capabilities, I could gladly learn how to paddle shift. If I were to get a C8, I would wait for the Z06. The main thing that is stopping me from getting one are my plans for early retirement. In the mean while, I totally love my C5. My recent mod of ditching the C5 seats for C7 seats really has me loving the car even more.

I have a 2003 now. I'm getting it into selling condition. I plan to buy a 2023 myself. I do love my c5, but my wife won't drive it because its a 6 speed and I've had this car now for over 14 years. I'm happy with it to an extent, but I've made some smart financial decisions lately that afford me the opportunity to buy whatever they have in store for the 70th anniversary (not that I want the 70th edition). I really want to do a museum delivery and all that jazz. I bought my c5 when I was 25, I think a nice 40th birthday gift is a c8 ordered the way I want it.

Everything I’ve seen so far I like. Sure there have been some teething problems but that’s to be expected. Now just waiting till I can afford one!

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with a C5.
