Default C5 z06 rotors

I put c6 gumbys on my 02 zo6. Id like to put drilled rotors on it as well like my c6 z51, it's an aesthtic preference. Will they fit? Any reasons to do it or why not to are welcome. Thanks guys

"Brake Motive" brake kit for ~$160 is what a lot of people run. C5 and C5Z06 brakes are the same, the latter just has red calipers instead of...not red....lol.

If you're talking about C6 Z06 brakes and don't mind spending $1-2k on parts, yes they'll fit a C5 as well, but I'm not sure they'll fit behind the gumbys.

C6 Z51 brakes will fit behind those base C6 wheels but C6 Z06/Grand Sport brakes will not.

Base C6 wheels are narrower, than C5Z units.

The Brake Motive are the way to go. Since you're just going for looks, they will fit under your rim, look good, and are cheap.

I agree with the Brake Motive route - good product at a reasonable price.

Also, check with KNSBrakes, a forum vendor. They have packages for the C5.

The C5Z06 came with race pads to track the car with while all the other C5 models did not. They create a LOT of brake dust on the rims which pissed me off after detailing the Vette and driving 5 miles they needed to be cleaned again. Since I was not going to track mine I changed them to ceramic pads which create almost zero dust even after a month of driving it, you will never get the brakes hot enough to worry about fading just driving on the city streets or freeways.

Sorry for glazing over that part, I figured most people wouldn't be buying or still be running OEM C5Z pads haha. I agree on the ceramics, I put them on everything I drive and love them.

Yeah the pads create copious amounts of dust, it's ridiculous. Thanks for the responses. To clarify, a c5 z06 will fit the c6 drilled rotors with oem calipers and gumby wheels? Plug and play?
