Are these ceramic?

Default Are these ceramic?

These sure look like semietalic to me. they came in a box and said they're duralast gold ceramic but the ones I got just like this for the front were very smooth blocks, not like this.

Those are "cooling slots", and really have nothing to do with the pad composition.

Not really sure how to tell over the interwebs. I don't know why anyone would put ceramic pads on a sports car. I drove my friend's Jetta after he put ceramics on it and they felt like they weren't working at all. Total garbage. Also, the slot is a wear indicator and has nothing to do with cooling. When the slot disappears it's time to replace the pads.

Pretty much all of this. Ceramics are for trailer queens afraid of brake dust.
