I'm an audiophile and really wanted to add some extra sound to my car. After searching the internet for weeks for anything custom pre-made for the C5. I only came up with one solution. Vettenutz fiberglass boxes at $350 each. Honestly too much money to spend for a box. So i whipped out my tape measure and went to work. A friend of mine does some wood working. I made him a cardboard model with specs. Here is end result.
Very nice! Yeah the Vettenuts boxes are nice, but a bit pricey and they are only available in 10" sub size. I like my 12"s, they thump a bit better! I just need a custom cabinet set up.

Thanks. It's tge first custom fit box we have ever done. I need to get the correct carpet color and fix them so they match. That is my next project. Im hoping to just find a carpet spray dye.

Excellent job. I hope you build more and market them, because this could become a decent niche business.
Congratulations on a nice job, and also for not being so helpless that buying a product that didn't really fit your needs price wise was your only option.
as you must already know, the correct audiophile speaker construction incorporates the free air resonance response of the drivers, the interior volume of the enclosure must match with the free air resonance of the speaker, which is usually found in the speaker specifications.
I suppose with car audio, fitment is the primary problem, not linear speaker response, since I never hear any mention of working this understanding into the box size. Of course, the acoustic volume in the box can be increased by stuffing the box with acoustic materials as described in some construction guide tables.
Enjoy your new stuff, I too enjoy audiophile sound, but limit my audiophile efforts to home playback , the car stays stock. I don't mind an upgrade to modern with the mechanicals, but the cosmetic stuff remains stuck in time with me.

Nice work! Looks almost like they're OEM. One suggestion I have is a grille over that subwoofer. It's pretty vulnerable to dropping something, and being damaged. Maybe you ha e one already, and it was removed for the pics......

I'm confused. You have a center mounted subwoofer so what's up the the corner boxes? They look to be filled with a full range speaker but why not just put those in the rear speaker locations?
Looks nice
I went with the center divider style box in my Z, like this one, 2 JL 10's and lots of watts - it'll re-style your 'do should you want it to Also cut down cabin noise quite a bit.
