Oh, on the subject of the two dumbazzes that were in the C6, why in the heck would one drive reckless when you have a loaded firearm and drugs in the car?
I once did a "ride along" with the Cedar Rapids Police Department. I was with them for about 5 hours or so when we pulled up next to a car where the two individuals were not wearing their seat belts. The police officer rolled down his window to tell them to fasten their seal belts. Well, the light turned green before the officer could tell them. The officer then asked me if we should pull them over and I said "yes, there is two tickets to write". So we pull in behind them and turn on the flashers. They take off. We follow them for about 5 blocks and the officer tells me to get out (before the ride along, I was told this would happen if a high speed pursuit would come to be though I was also told this had never happened in a ride along). So he slows down a tad and I open the door and proceed to get out but the seat belt was still on my right arm so I do more of a fall out and roll than get out. This happened right behind a Goodwill store. An employee saw all this happening and we chatted as we could hear MULTIPLE cop car sirens all around. After a minute or so, we here the sirens getting close again then hear a BANG on the other side of a fence that separated the Goodwill store and an apartment complex. A few seconds had passed, and I see an individual dart out from the fence then run across the parking lot. I debated a second on what to do as I was also told before the ride along I could not get involved in any police business. My conclusion was I was no longer with the police so I get up and start running after the individual. I was in great shape at the time and being 6'4" I caught up to him rather quickly. As I'm running along side of the individual I'm telling him to stop. He just keeps on running so I tackle him. My military background kicks in and I have him in a pinned headlock. We were now in front of a bowling alley and many were outside trying to see what all the sirens were for (I'm assuming). None of them were doing a damn thing so I finally tell them to stop one of the police cars that were zooming past. So one bystander flagged an officer down and the officer quickly cuffs the individual up. My ride along ended at that time as the officer I was with got a little scuffed up when taking down the fleeing driver. It turns out the two in the car were wanted, had drugs, had stolen property, and the car was stolen.
My point is this. Criminals are stupid. If they would have just had their seat belts on, they would have never been pulled over. Dumbazzes
