Upper windshield tint

Default Upper windshield tint
The c5 I just picked up has a 6" or so tint strip. I dont care for it and want it gone. There is what appears to be a single line defrost wire in it? Not sure if that's oem or not. Anyways, what's the best way to get this ugly tint off?

A steamer would be best.

Use a heat gun, and peel slowly to get both layers
Let me change that to say you can probably use a hair dryer, heat guns get too hot, get an edge started and work from there.

The stock windshield does have a strip of tint at the top of it. Although it certainly doesn't have any defrost wires.

I thought the antenna wire was in the windshield?

It is the antenna wire that you see and it is embedded in the glass so you won't hurt it removing the tint.

There's a chance the tint is from the factory if so It's inside of the glass and can not be removed.

Tint came off with a little heat and some pulling. It was a lazy attempt when installed. Factory is still there and fine. But it was literally a 10" strip. Made it hard to even see traffic lights.
getting the f45 tuned out as I write this by a friend at the dealer.

I second hair dryer. Had to remove sons z28 on side windows would not pass inspection. And yes I tried it with windows down and they rolled them up to inspect
