Battery mat question

Hi, I want to install a battery mat but when l remove the battery would l have to reset the radio stations? Would l also get crazy dashboard lights as well? I will get a AGM one day but for now this battery is 2 years old.Thank you in advance.

Yep, I lose my stations (although I rarely listen to the radio) when I change batteries. But never had the "crazy dashboard lights" issue you refer to when I did change batteries.

I don’t lose any stations or saved settings. Just can’t have the battery disconnected for too long

Before disconnecting the battery you connect this into your cigarette lighter. You can purchase one of these https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kastar-295A...53.m2749.l2649 You probably can find one cheaper if you search awhile. The 9 volt battery will keep all your presets intact.

When I changed batteries in two of my C5s, I do not recall losing any settings on the car.

Yup, I cant explain why but I have had no problems from brief (ten minutes) disconnecting the battery....everything was fine, no resets needed.
Longer disconnects......yup.
