I figured something like this would happen. He wasn't even honest about where they are made, so I wouldn't think he is honest enough to give a correct timeline. If I were to take a guess, he will eventually reply and say something along the lines "I am so sorry, due to COVID....." (seems to be everyone's crutch these days)

Ugh! I HATE reading this. Not meeting stated lead times AND THEN not responding to your inquiry is unacceptable! Hopefully you paid with a credit card so you can at least get your money back. Good luck!

He's posting in some of the Facebook groups. I linked him to this thread, because I'm a pot stirrer like that.... hopefully you get a response/resolution. They sure do look nice.

Can I ask how hard the install was and a general price point? I really want to change by wheel but I also don't want to risk getting a ticket so I'd love to see how reasonable this is for me.

Thanks! I hope it helps. I did actually mention this thread in my last email. Since I still have not received a response, I was going to try posting on their Facebook page tonight. I'll also send another email. I'm actually VERY forgiving of legit delays. I wouldn't have even mentioned it here if he had responded to my multiple attempts to contact him. I would try calling him as well, but he doesn't have a phone number listed anywhere on his site. Perhaps that should have been a red flag. His customer service was so good before the purchase, I thought it would work out. It's the fact that his service was so good before the order that has me so worried that he isn't responding now. I'll keep you guys posted on how things go. I hope that I can do a review of the wheel itself if it ever arrives.

So I wanted to give an update on my situation with VQCarbonCustoms. I did manage to speak with them on the phone on 6/24/21. They told me at that time that they were having supply issues, but that my wheel would be ready in 2 weeks. It's over 3 weeks later...no wheel. I've called them over a dozen times in the last 2 days with no answer. They told me in writing when I ordered that it would take 8 weeks. This Friday (7/23/21) will be 16 weeks since I placed my order. Despite the fact that they have not responded to the MANY emails I have sent them since week 8, I sent another email today. I told them that if I do not at least hear back by Friday, that I will file a dispute with my credit card company, and file a complaint with the better business bureau. If I don't hear back, I'm hoping my credit card company can recover my money. If they can't, I'll have to take them to small claims court. I've already paid them $900.00, so I'm not just going to let that go.

Man, I was hoping this would have been over by now. Really sorry you're dealing with all that. I hope you can get this resolved soon and have a new wheel in your hands.

Okay, another update. I did finally get a response from VQCarbonCustoms. He told me that the supply chain is really bad, and claims that materials have been sold out for weeks. He offered to immediately ship one of 4 wheels that he had in stock. None of these wheels was what I wanted (and most would have clashed badly with my car), so I declined this offer. I told him that I am willing to wait for what I want, but that I won't wait forever. I have in writing that he will 100% be able to get my wheel done in the next 4 weeks, and that if he does not, that he will issue me a refund in full. I have agreed to this. I will give them this one last chance. This is a hard deadline, and I will be looking for my money back if he fails to deliver this time.

Jeez. I get no supply, but you can't just leave people hanging like that.

We're dealing with it hard core with vehicles. I have a customer whose Silverado order has been sitting for 186 days. It is what it is. I still update him on it.

Sorry to hear!

I personally don't think this guy should get your business or anyone's for that matter. He lies about where they are made, lies about lead times, and who knows what else he lies about. Unfortunately, I know your weeks deep into waiting and it would suck to restart with another company. Best of luck!

Sure hate to hear all the headaches this has been for you. I hope you do get the wheel you ordered within the specified timeline.

Sorry to hear you're still having such issues. In retrospect, you probably would have been better off ordering a wheel from Apsis.

The supply chain sucks for everything right now, including the big guys. I had to cancel an order with Texas Speed that I placed back in November 2020 in June of 2021. They never sent any email or called me that entire time, although cancelling the order was super easy.

Sorry for your pain.. I went with Mike of MCS, great service and time frame, sent me pictures as was being built, and the price was reasonable.
I could use one his cores, which he doesn t have many off, cause they are hard to find, but i had an extra and sent to him.. worked out flawlessly for everyone.

Thanks guys. Yeah, if I get the wheel in the next month I'll be happy. If not, I'll have to start all over again with another company. When all is said and done, I sure hope this is worth the wait.

Checked them out on eBay then their website. Great product! Just ordered mine.

I just got an email from Dave at VQCarbonCustoms last night. My wheel is FINALLY finished, and it shipped out today!!!! They sent me a picture of the finished wheel, and I'm very happy. I wanted something nice that was a bit more special than just a padded leather wheel, but I also wanted it to look like it could have been stock. I settled on matte black carbon fiber with no center stripe, and black perforated leather grips on the side with matching black stitching and a flat bottom. I've been waiting for 5 months, but it looks like I'm getting what I wanted. I'll post more pics, and a detailed review once I actually receive the wheel and get it installed.

The picture they sent of my completed wheel.
