Welcome to the C5 madness. Looks like you pretty much know what you're doing and have the equipment to accomplish it. You're doing a great job with it. I've also never seen that color on a C5 yet. Gonna look pretty cool I bet.
well shes almost all back togethor now. got a few odds and ends to finish up. this is about 15hrs after it was sprayed and just put back togethor. still has to be wetsanded and buff the whole car. theres 3-4 coats of high solids clear on everything blue. son as i plan on reclearing the black top this coming week just so its all nice and fresh. i believe this is day 7 or 8 since i started this project, all done entirely by me and i have a full time job so weekdays arent always productive.
and heres what she looked like a few weeks ago..

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you do nice work. Nice color choice. Now, next time I'm going thru Texas in my C5, I have this little project I'd like you to do for me, see, and............Just kidding!!!
I'm still working on buffing her all out and polishing it up. this is after a medium cut and the door still needs another round or two to clean up some haziness. zr style spoiler will be on in the next day or two with an added special touch.
its been awhile since i posted any updates and shes had some major upgrades/changes in the last year. replaced passenger side rocker as original was previously repaired terribly, 224/230 BTR cam, polished dual springs w/ titanium retainers, 3/8" pushrods, stainless long tubes, x-pipe w/ high flow cats, p59 ecm swap, decapped flex fuel injectors on stock rail, coil overs, PML deep trans pan, c7 hood vent, homelink garage door opener, 2016 camaro ss heated steering wheel(almost identical to c7 wheel)and probably a few more things i cant remember at the moment. heres some recent pictures...
oh i almost forgot...someone previously had put stop leak in the AC system which clogged the orifice tube starving the compressor of oil, causing the cautostrophic failure....there was no way to ever clean the evap or condensor or any other part of te ac system so the only option wasw to replace the entire system, pulling the entire dash was not much fun...all said and done i was around $500 into the entire job.
^ first thing i thought of when seeing your completed work.
welcome to the forum!
funny you say that because thats exactly what i call her
i just noticed in the last pic the front fender isnt completely bolted down as i was still messing with the wiring from the ecm swap. it is aligned much better than that and isnt flapping around now.
Welcome tot the forum and thank you for adopting and saving a very neglected C5. That is a ton of work you have done and WOW what a transformation!
thanks, now that i think about all the work ive done i cant believe its only been a year. im kinda known for starting projects and not finishing them so ive made it a point that anything i do the car it cant be down for more than a few days. theres still a few things im not satsfied with one being the headlights. i really like the knightdrivetv setup just not willing to fork over that kinda cash for some brackets and id also like to do something with the front lip but i barely make it in my driveway as it is now. im also in the near future going to do the section of the hood around the vent in black just havent figured out how i want to have the starting edge of it to look. and eventually i have a 76mm id like to hang off the side off the side of the motor
Good plan only doing so much at one time. I just learned that lesson all over again. I started my last round of upgrades back in October, and I just got all of my stuff to get it back where I can get it together where it’s driveable this past week.
I did have some terrible luck at every step, but mostly slow vendors held mine up. That’s why I do most things in the winter here in TN, because I’m usually parked from December until at least March anyways.
Once I get everything completed and cleaned up, I’ll be posting in my build thread.
I’m pretty burned out with trying to do mods for the time being. Vendors are slammed with business, and it just takes forever to get anything since the pandemic. Not to mention the effects of fuel and inflation, but I’ll end it there before my blood pressure spikes.
