On the way home from a nice meal in Newport RI. Traveling on route 195 to home when I see a black object a few hundred feet in the air falling from the sky. It wasn’t flying just falling. A big black bird. Natural it hit my hood. Pulled over to check it out. Deep scratches! Dead bird. My friend who owns a body shop says the hood has to be repainted because of the color. Purple pearl amethyst. The lobster dinner just got more expensive!

Your comprehensive insurance coverage should cover the repair. It looks deep but you could try to polish it out and use some touch up paint until you get it fixed.
That's what you get for eating lobster in Newport with the ballers. If you had a burger in Warwick it wouldn't have happened!
My wife swerved to miss a coyote and side swiped the K rail and hit the coyote anyway. Insurance covered it with no deductible because I took photos of the coyote blood and hair on the front bumper. The insurance agent told me if I didn't have proof of hitting the coyote first I'd have had to pay the deductible. Hopefully, your insurance has the same policy.

I hit a turkey with my wife's brand new Suburban. She was NOT pleased. Punched a hole in the grill and buckled the front of the hood. I drove it to my insurance office next day and showed it to my agent. It still had feathers in the windshield wipers.
