The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Thanks Clint, you're car is looking killer as well. Only cosmetic mod I have left to do is wide front fenders and switching to the front wheels to deep concave if they will fit.
Yup it's corvette creationz, I actually took video of how to install it along with the C6Z mud flaps and fender liner extenders but never got around to editing the video and posting to my youtube channel. Hopefully will get around to it one day.

A story behind wanting a corvette is that my dad wanted a corvette his whole life and took a c5 for multiple test drives when I was a kid from the dealer. He came really close to pulling the trigger multiple times but never did. His rationale was he couldn't in good conscience buy that car, it was too much of a luxury when he had to take care of our family. Wish he would have done it regardless but could never fault him for putting the family first in his mind before himself always.
When my brother and I were finally out of the house and my dad didn't have that self imposed standard of being responsible to the family above all else and could finally afford the car... mom had developed serious knee issues and getting in and out of a lowered car was too painful for her. My dad had a new reason not to buy the a Corvette as he felt it would be too selfish for him to own a car only he could drive without my mom and it had been so long he didn't have the fire for it like he did earlier in his youth.
Given my respect for my dad couldn't help but take his perspective to heart and think about it a lot. When I was looking at the purchase, was viewing it as a once in a life time opportunity to buy a sports car prior to having kids and that it might be my only opportunity to in good conscience do so. Knew if I bought the car I needed to pay it off quick and remove the chance for the finances associated with the car impacting family objectives.
So I bought it, paid it off quick and then a couple months afterward had the door locks fail and was quoted from chevy over a grand to replace the door control modules. That was my 'ah ha' moment of knowing that to be able to keep the corvette in good conscience and keep the spend down on it would require me to learn how to do as much as I could on it. So I researched and learned how to take the door panels off and solder and fixed the door control modules for 50$ including tools and been soldering ever since. Have taken that mentality into everything with this car and when I needed to rebuild my motor, bought a book, pulled it myself researched how to build and did so. Like a lot of things in life you have to fail before you get good and have had my fair share of mistakes but most of the time have only been out my time and not much money when that has occurred.
Prior to owning this car was a novice in the garage and since buying the car in 7 years have never paid someone to wrench on it. Feel in the 7 years I've had the car have never egregiously spent money on it and have typically dropped a couple grand a year doing a mod here or there to it, have never had to make a sacrifice to my family or finances to keep this car and that was always a top principle behind getting and keeping the car right up there with having endless fun with it!
Wish like hell I could have taken a video of the first time my dad rode in the C5 but will have the memory vivid in my mind forever, he loves the car and I know that it's not the same but he vicariously is a corvette owner through me. For fun, here is a video I posted on the forum 7 years ago of the first time I ever saw my C5, still feel pretty much the same way about it that I did that day. Thanks for reading about my story.
