Here is a question which may become more pertinent as our cars age. I possess a 2003 Z06 with 60k. Iles which has ales ays been garaged by the look of it, and will be. I also have a 1999 Coupe which the first owner mostly kept outdoors and which I have also on and off over the years, albeit with covers but it has also been daily driven year round several years. At roughly 110k, when I get under the car now I do see where these northeast winters have begun to take their toll in the form of corrosion and oxidation in some areas.
It is nothing at all problematic. Yet I would like to preserve this one better if I can and I am unsure how best to do so. Then I have the mint 2003 which I would like to act preemptively on.
Look into spray on coatings but NOT thick black type. Do a lot of research on this type of stuff because not all are created equal. Most, if done wrong will lock in any diry/moisture and make rusting happen even faster.
Hahaha! I'm sorry I ever cracked that joke. Yours is even more cherry than my Z06, so you may faint to see the state of the coupe.
No need to be sorry, man. It needed to be said and I'm totally cool with it. 😉👍 All good here. I actually had forgotten about it so I'm glad you said something and now I'll get some good info on how to fix it. ✌😎
