I have a Maxjax made in China. Aside from not being made here I have no problem with its origins. I expect that it was built to the specs called out by Maxjax and I have no problem working under it. Do you think any American company would purposely have an inferior product made there? And do you think they don't have a quality control system for testing the lifts (or at least spot-checking them) upon arrival?
I had a pair of big-name aluminum cylinder heads on my oval track car that were cast in China TO THEIR SPECS. I gave them to my engine builder and he changed the valve springs to something more high performance. I used those heads for 5 full seasons without worry, and the new owner of the car has put 2 more seasons on them since without a problem.
I'm all for the flag-waving for American products, but there's really not much of a selection of a reasonably priced mid-rise 2 post that's made here.
As an aside, I remember when I was a kid 'made in Japan' had the same connotation that 'made in China' has today. I'm glad I'll be long time by the time China picks up the pace.

You make a good point. A friend of mine works for a major speaker manufacturer. They frequently (pre-COVID) would go TO the factories in China and show them what they wanted built and how they wanted it done. It's not like having it manufactured elsewhere is some free-for-all. These companies have too much money on the line for that.
