Default 2 post lift

Just had a 5-6 car garage/shop built. Need recommendations on which 2 post lift is best. There are so many available that I cannot get a grip on which may be best. Please provide any info you may have. Thank you all in advance.

What's your ceiling height? (note that I don't have any recommendations, but this will help with others making one)

Buddy of mine has two bendpak lifts and he's had them for over 5 years now. No issues out of them.

Good way to narrow your choices is to shop only American made lifts. Not too many and you'll pay more but your life and the well being of your Corvette are worth it. Mohawk is made in USA. Unfortunately it seems that all of the smaller lifts such as Quick Jack or Max Jax are Chinese built.

If you must buy American, Bendpak would be my choice. However, a company in Michigan, ARESCO, (Automotive Repair Equipment and Specialty Company) sells well made lifts. I've had one for about 10 years now, and it's never had an issue. I use it more often than some may think. Can't remember the Name brand. Call ARESCO, and talk to Steve. He'll point you in the right direction....

Oh, one other thing......Expect a LOT of new friends if you install one in your home garage. Lifts are like swimming pools-If you have one, lots of people will call, like "Hey, how ya doing"? "Remember me"?
Also, you'll probably want a couple of regular 2 post (Symmetrical), and a couple Asymmetrical 2 post lifts.....

Not that I know of but I'd hate to be the first. I really like the concept of the smaller lifts I just wish they were produced domestically or at least not in China. American made full size lifts are available so I personally would go in that direction.

A quick inter-web search reveals that Bendpak is proudly made in China. The posts I saw were a few years old so maybe they brought their manufacturing facility back here but I seriously doubt it.

They were started in 1965 in California and their website shows a new manufacturing facility that was built there in 2017 and more to be built in CA after that.
They speak of themselves as a "proud California institution". There is no mention of China.

I seriously doubt anyone is going to advertise "Our lifts are proudly made in China, by Chinese Master craftsman, utilizing only the finest in Chinese engineering". This facet of manufacturing, for the traditional, well known brand name American manufacturers, is a more closely guarded secret than Col. Harland Sanders fried chicken recipe....

Exactly. Like it or not, American companies are happy to hire american engineers that will design a product, create blueprints, then send copies of the drawings to a company in China (some American companies may OWN the Chinese company!), who then manufactures all the product they can.
