Well the search finally came to an end this weekend. My wife was looking for a new daily as our daughter will be driving with in the next year. Drove an hour and half and snagged this 04 6spd Commerative Edition convertible. Price made it hard to pass up, but its gonna easily need a few grand to get it where it needs to be. Poor car is need of some serious TLC as it was severely neglected by the previous owner. The interior also looks like a baby shat all over it. Headed to the shop hopefully this week to start breathing life back into it. Car does run and drive, but needless to say does need some work. Not gonna lie though about what one would expect from a $7,000 C5.
Car has longtubes, intake, and aftermarket clutch.
'04 Commemerative Edition The Commemorative Edition 2004 Corvette was specifically designed to pay homage to Corvette’s successful return to racing.
And with several leftover Shale Interiors from the 03 Anniversary Editions . . Bowling Green had to do something with those Nut Sack Tan Interiors.
All the Commemorative Edition 2004 Corvettes were finished in a striking LeMans Blue paint with red-edged silver stripes that adorned the hood, roof and rear deck lid. Special “LeMans 24-hours” emblems featuring Corvette’s iconic crossed-flags trademark appeared on the nose and the tail of the car, and a matching emblem was embroidered into the headrests of the custom shale color interior leather seats.
Completing the commemorative package on all of the specially equipped coupes and convertibles was the introduction of polished alloy wheels.
This option, which could be ordered as part of the regular 1SB Preferred Equipment group, was also made available
at a moderate additional cost of $3,700 for either the coupe or convertible upgrade. The 03 package was $5,500 moar the year prior in Anniversary Red

Good luck, OP, and IMHO, $7,000 on a CE Vert is doing pretty well!!! How many miles? Most of what I see is just minor cleanup and like you said, plain old TLC. Hopefully, it was mechanically maintained. Actually, it looks like a careless mechanic with dirty hands and feet did a lot of the "shat". I think Vettenuts, C&S, Dinos, and other salvage yards will soon be on a first name basis with you!

Car has 128k on it so not too terrible. Hopefully a good deep clean will do wonders on the interior. We will see how "mechanically maintained" it was later this week.

Overall "small" stuff, but its gonna add up real quick. We will start prioritizing work and then go from there. The previous owner who is the 2nd owner is like 20 years old and has owned it for 2 years. He was only selling cause he needs to buy a 4X4 truck since he is moving to Minnesota for college.

Only the Z06 had the stripes.
This looks like it was a great deal for $7K! Congrats on a nice buy. I suspect a really good deep cleaning will fix up most of the interior issues. The missing door reflector should be an easy fix as well. I bet it's louder than hell with long tubes and no rear exhaust. This lets you choose whatever exhaust you want though. You're right that it's going to take a few grand to get everything sorted out. However, once you've fixed it up, it will certainly be worth more than you paid for it.
Nice car for $7,000, how many miles? I have a Commemorative 6 speed coupe. I just finished completely restoring my interior to brand new appearance. I’ll tell you though first hand that finding good condition parts for this special edition color combination is a challenge. Makes it all the more special though when you get it fixed up!

What a shame that anyone would neglect a Corvette that way, but kudos to you for rescuing a beautiful C5 from that life of hell!

I am posting just so I can keep up with progress. Looks like fun and you will have something when it is over. I just used a magic eraser on my sills and kick plates and that worked great. I also used a hand held Bissel steam cleaner on carpet and it works wonders. Good luck and keep us posted.
