I just recently started shopping for a C5. When I shop for a car I look at market value and what fits in my budget comes next. I have been studying the market for the past few weeks and it is confusing me. I am looking for something with a manual that is not going to be the most expensive nor the least expensive. It seems as if there are three different cut off points in value 1997-1998, 1999-2001, and 2002-2004. If the outliers are taken out (trash on the low end to 10 mile cars on the high end) I am thinking an average price is in the 15-16k range for a nice coupe/convertible with decent miles. Am I off? Z06's have a huge gap high teens for high miles to low 30's. I am thinking 24k for an 2002-2004 is a good number and 22k for a 2001. Any thoughts?
Personally I think high teens for my 2002 vert seems about right (59k miles, manual and no mods) If I was offered low twenties there would be more room in my garage today.

That's a beautiful car. Don't make the same mistake I made. I sold a car because I got a lot of money for it and now I regret it.
Your numbers seem pretty reasonable. Prices have been going up in the last few months..
I was looking at a 2003 Z06 at a dealer and asking is 25k. I did a vin search, it pulled up the last advertised sale price from 2019 and it was 17,999 at a Hyundai dealer. Thats a nice jump.

Prices for all used cars, including Corvettes, are crazy right now. With the shortage of new cars, prices are spiking. Your numbers are probably pretty much in line with what the values are right now for a nice, well maintained and lower mileage car.
Steve I know exactly what you're going through. I just purchased this 2003 AE, 99000 miles and got it for $15k. Thing is I was ready to pull the trigger on a 2001 Torch Red with 34000 miles, same options, and a beautiful Corvette for $18k. Couldn't get the dealer down enough to justify the price because I need to have it shipped halfway across country. It took five months of visiting daily car sites to find this one. I was getting very frustrated and then it popped up on the screen late on a Friday night, I bought it the next morning. Be vigilant, it's out there waiting for you.
As a side note, this is a great site full of info. Thanks to all who participate.

Your car looks spectacular. The driver seat has no wear that I can see and thats a shocker considering it has 99k on the clock. I came to the conclusion that buying from a dealer is not a good thing. I reached out to two out of state dealers and one had a 1200 addendum + 1000 to ship and the other had an 800 addendum + 800 to ship. I am sticking to private party because of this.
