2004 Exhaust ideas
Hello everyone,
I have a low mile 2004, 6 speed......... stock except for cold air intake. LOVE THE CAR!!!
I am starting the process of deciding on new exhaust, I want an American sound, deep and throaty.
1 - headers, yes or no.....I read stock C5 exhaust manifolds flow well.
2 - brands you like in x pipe and rest of system back.
3 - pipe diameter?
4 - pro tune after?

If money is no issue...Kooks long tube headers and x-pipe, with Borla or Corsa catback. That will get you the sound you want with no drone. That setup will also give you a noticeable HP bump. With an upgraded intake, it would be worth getting it tuned.
If on a budget...Do the exhaust bypass mod. This will improve the cars sound with no drone for about $200.00. No need to to tune this setup.

I just put a set of Borla ATAK axle back system on my 2000 (thanks Larry!) and man, do they sound sweet!!
The newer Borla systems offer a "drone free" option also. Check out their website for some good info and some sound bytes to compare systems. I left the OEM headers and cats on it and did not do a tune.
