Very strange, I'm curious what causes something like that to happen. I'd be interested in that info if you ever ask the shop that's going to repair it
I will let you know. Some days, it isn't as proud as the picture shows & will lay flat again. That's the worse it gets. It looks like at the very corner, the two parts of the hood may be slightly separating. Hopefully just needs glued back together. Don't know what caused it to happen, just noticed it one day.
Mancave!? why is it not on the car!? I want one of these hoods real bad, just dont have the budgets for one. There is also nothing like it in the aftermarket.

It IS on my car...but i also have one in the "Mancave" ... Lots of members actually have more than one Corvette....I have more than one MCM hood...hope that answers your question.
Hi! I'm the second owner of this beautiful C5 that I've nicknamed Blue Demon When I bought it years ago, the hood was already installed. Could someone please help me figure out who made the carbon fiber hood? Is it MCM? Thanks!
Here are some good examples of the low rise and high rise S/C hood to compare with for the OP...
It is an MCM hood... The one you're sporting is for Supercharger. Mine was the first MCM hood for Supercharger. The primary differences were that it was higher but the real trick that the originator was so pleased about... ...is that the bubble is wider than the bubbles on the lower, first production hoods that MCM developed. He told me that it was done to soften or smooth the height so that it would not look so abrupt especially against the smooth and flowing lines of the C5.
Mine from 2003 Z06 . Standard height. Had it painted Black on an '01 Z06 and TR on the '03 below. They are very nice hoods fit and finish were top notch.

The MCM hood is such a precision crafted body part, with a unique look, that it's no surprise the demand for them is still high. I still believe, if someone would be willing to ante up for the tooling and do it the RIGHT way, like they were originally built, potential buyer's would readily fork over the money for it in quantity. It's too bad that older generations of Corvettes don't get as much attention as the latest ones but, the C5 had it's day in the sun, just like the rest before it, and that goes for the aftermarket as well. The C5 market is pretty tapped out for anything to come along that is radical new design. Manufacturers just don't want to spend the money on another new design that may end up being a complete dud. The MCM hood is one of the exceptions.
One of the greatest car related trips I ever had was driving from STL to Long Island, NY and back again in Jan 2012 to pick up the MCM hood for my car from a former forum member who sold their C5 but, had parts for sale, and the hood was one of them. $1200 and painted in the colors I needed it to be, with only a little rock chip in the silver area. Had to battle snow, ice, and no sleep for 2 days but, got the hood home unscathed.
Don't remember the exact year but probably 2001 I saw the first one I had ever seen at Carlisle. The next year, I and another club member both ordered MCM hoods from Carlisle. He got the exposed CF center section and I got the finished center section. Both of us had Black Z06s. When we received the hoods , we both ended up at the same paint shop to have them painted black. Oh yeah , they both looked awesome.
