Yes, I've searched - and found no definitive answer., and no, I do not want to fix or replace the auto antenna.
Has anyone found a stubby type antenna that will actually fit a C5 *** Convertible*** without it sitting whomper-jawed on the fender and/or need some ungodly adaptors that can't be found
I have, for myself, but I'm trying to sell the car and everyone seems to want a working radio, and we don't get good reception here in the mountains without an antenna.
1000% guaranteed you will love this antenna. Have it on my vette, truck and bikes. Scroll all the way down to 4C German Engineered internal copper one - you will not be sorry.
If you were up for it you could mount a 20" mast laterally inside your rear fascia up above the brake lights and maintain solid reception. If you were super motivated to be rid of the oem mounting point you could remove the motor piece and swap your fender off for one from a coupe without the hole. Or just put a stylish 4" stubby on the oem slot and enjoy a cool look with original intended reception quality.
Though I like the idea of the 4C option above and may try it later on.
I'm also interested in options. I have a 2004 convertible and I installed an aftermarket DD Kenwood unit with Apple Car Play. I hated the "radio control toy car" look of the telescoping convertible antenna so I disconnected the fuse. 90% of the time I have my iPhone plugged in and listen to my music library, however when I go on a road trip out of the area, I would like to use the radio.
The swap to a short stubby antenna is not as simple as it is with the FRC or Z06 and requires additional hardware if you remove the telescoping antenna/motor. I also thought of some kind of internal powerful antenna that could be installed in the rear fender or rear fascia, but haven't found my perfect solution yet. I like the look of the shorter, stubby antennas, but want to make sure the reception is good.

Bob, how does that one work? I've got it on my never ending project car and have yet to try the radio. I was unsure if it was decent or not since one former owner was enamored of Corvette Mods and I believe I have now removed every chochsky piece of trash of theirs from the car
Thanks. Any real world reviews on this product? Does the shorter antenna and amp improve or provide as good reception as the power, telescoping antenna as advertised?

Sorry, no. I'm a Z06 guy. I am curious about why they only provide the amp with the power antenna conversion.
