Thanks Stingroo,I would greatly appreciate that photo. It's not leaking into the cabin so there's no great urgency. When you get the time is fine.I just want to check it for preventative maintenance.
Boy that is a big help, thanks! Is it necessary to take it out to see if it is clogged, or just maybe probe it while it is in place? Have not read to much about this clogging up, but want to know how to check it! Thanks, Dave
Because I got water on my clutch leg one time I decided this was important. So I read all the posts & today was able to do all 3 on the drivers side, skinny arms so I was successful and the one furthest to the rear of the car was definitely plugged up! Eureka! So on to the passenger side. Someone said pull the inner fender well cover out after removing 3 screws. Ehhh, not happening without breaking or pulling a lot of stuff off and I could not see the end of the udder anyway. So I can barely see it behind the battery, battery has to come out as far as I am concerned so my QUESTION IS THIS: Is it okay to disconnect the battery & pull it without "something" still energizing the electrical system? Seems to me I read about this once but at my age, well who knows!! Thanks, Dave
How do you put in a new battery and remove the old one?
Errrrr, I know there is a device that will keep the electrical system with voltage going in, while the battery is removed, I dont know what it is called, so I am wondering if that has to be done while I remove the battery to get the passenger side udder out? Sorry if I am not explaing this very well. Dave
Yep, 2 on the drivers side and one on the passengers side. The one on the passenger's side is the difficult one. I take out the battery for access but others remove the right tire and open up the access panel to gain access. The drivers side just reach down and you will feel them, rubber. Also, while you are doing the cleaning of the utters, also clean the AC drip hose. Attached are 2 docs on the cleanings.
Thanks for the photo. I didn't know the third udder on the driver's side is just aft of the outboard udder. It was full of twigs and other detritus; the others were clean.
I just cleaned mine this morning. The first one on driver's side I pulled out to clean as it is pretty easy to get two. The other two on driver's side I just "milked". It was pretty easy to reach in and open up the bottom to get all the stuff out.
I tried to milk the passenger side but ended up removing the battery and pulling the udder out. Took maybe 5 minutes including gathering required tools.
It's kind of hard to find, but it's under there. Battery removal I don't think will help too much - it's closer to the block. I can try and take a good photo this afternoon when I get off work.
Battery removal DOES make the passenger side utter VERY easy to get to. Once the battery is removed you can easily see and reach the utter. I did so last weekend.

Oh for the udder no doubt. I was talking about the AC tube though.
I've never actually cleaned my passenger side udder.... hmmmmmmmmm I think I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Sorry...I misunderstood. I agree battery removal would not help at all getting to the AC tube.
Mine wasn't as dirty as I thought it would be based on how bad the 3 driver side ones were. However, it's easy to do and doesn't take very long. Well worth the trouble to make sure that water drains the way it should.

A battery maintainer such as a CTEK or a Battery Tender will do what you want. It's much simpler to just remove the battery to clean the passenger side udder.
