[QUOTE=smitty2919;1603565071]The only catbacks that don't drone are stock Ti, Corsa, BB PRT and Borla Atak I believe.
BB PRT had a lot of drone at 50 MPH in my 98 C5 convertible with the top up. I currently have Borla ATAK on one of my 2000 C5s and Borla S-Type II in my other 2000 C5. No drone with either of them. The Borla ATAK sound fantastic!
Im leaning towards the Borla type S. I don't want any drone and will probably just keep the titaniums. They literally look brand-new. I had the Borla attack on a LS3, that was just a little too loud.
I have the Borla S-Type II on one of my supercharged 2000 C5s and the Borla ATAK on my other supercharged C5. If the ATAK is a little too loud for you, then the S-Type II will be perfect for you, I think. No drone at all. I dumped the too quiet TI exhaust and added the S-Type II. Just for the record, I had Billy Boat PRT on my previously owned 98 convertible, and the done was bad at 50 MPH with the top up, so now I stick to Borla.
I guess when people say Borla S type or Atak need to clarify what system because those are "sound levels" that come in both a full size muffler design and a smaller can style muffler design:
Full size muffler sound levels :Touring/S-type II/Atak
Can muffler sound levels: S-type "classic" only
I'm betting the no-drone Borla is with the larger muffler design. I believe the S-type classic would drone given muffler design.

I would say Borla or Corsa have the best sound. However, neither is going to get you much HP over the stock Ti. I'd say you'll get $200 - $500 if you sell your Ti exhaust.
FACT!!! When I had my first 427 built at Wheel to Wheel, a then world class facility, I was told that no system they had dyno'd made more than 5hp over the stock Ti mufflers/cat back!! Doing the math, 2.5hp each side, or just .62hp per cylinder!! This was the very best cat back/muffler combo they found! They told me that most systems show absolutely no gain over the Ti catback. So, that made me feel just dandy after dumping $250.00 each on 2 Flowmaster mufflers made for the C5!!! Aftermarket catback/mufflers are for making a deeper, and/or louder exhaust note. Nothing more.
I have a new you tube channel with a few videos posted. My you tube channel is Corvette Joe, sorry, I don’t know how to post a link and to lazy to figure it out right now. I have a couple sound clips of the exhaust. Check it out if your interested. I also have a video of the possible drone on the inside of the car. I’ve had the exhaust like this for 16 years, I don’t here drone anymore, or have just gotten used to it. It’s loud and I like it. Please check out the videos. Thanks
Personally, I would keep the titaniums. They sound great, don't drone, and are lighter than any aftermarket catback out there aside from maybe one of the obnoxious straight pipe kits.
So I installed the Borla type S today and the drone at low RPM is just enough that soon as it stops raining Im putting the stock titaniums back on. While the Borla looks and sounds much better from the outside of the car the stock exhaust is just a better cab sound. Maybe its because I have headers, X pipe and cats removed, I don't really know but the stocks have zero drone at any RPM. I guess I had to do it to know for myself.
I had a feeling you would get drone with those. You'd need the S Type II or Atak to not have drone.
Corsa Sport is another option, but not too cheap. I'm in the middle of adding a Magnaflow internal X muffler mid mounted to go along with my LT's/cats/Corsa Sport system. I had a normal X pipe and replacing it with a magnaflow internal X muffler.
The Sports would not "drone" but they can still get LOUD. I'm looking for a more refined tone. Kick down the bark a little.

If you made a video driving, would your phone camera pick up the drone?
I'm still not sure what drone is, could you try to make a quick video before pulling off?
That stinks it's not working out for you, hopefully you can return it.

With most exhaust you will “hear” it at steady RPM highway cruising but that doesn’t mean it’s drone. It could be exhaust tone note. There is a difference.
yes this is the model I bought. I will try to pick it up on a video. I’ll be removing it OT first thing in the morning if the weather cooperates. I need to pull out a few cars to free up the lift. The drone is heard when I accelerate from a standstill. It’s a short duration because when the rpm comes up it goes away but is very annoying. The best way to explain a drone for me is it’s kinda like a annoying, monotone sound and vibration that occurs in some rpm’s. My ears vibrate and drone out all other sounds. I actually took it out with my wife to see what she thought and she said it’s a weird annoying sound when you start but then sounds really good. I’ll try to capture the sound in the morning and probably annoy a neighbor Or two it’s pretty loud. Sounds great from outside the car.
I'm sorry to hear things didn't work out. I'm not an expert on the part numbers, but I do know the Borla classics DO have drone. I've never heard anyone say that the newer Borlas with the full muffler have drone. I've heard several cars with the newer Borlas, and none have had drone. Perhaps a different Borla model would work for you. Ultimately, the only thing that matters though is if you're happy with what you got. You clearly are not, so the search continues. Worst case scenario, you could do the bypass mod on your Ti exhaust. This will for sure have NO DRONE at all, but will be louder than stock. I personally have 0 tolerance for drone. it gives me a headache, and that's not what I want from a car that I drive to enjoy.

The best way to describe it, it's similar to almost like a hum sound inside the cabin. If you drive your car often it can get rather annoying. It was terrible on mine with cutouts open at low rpm speeds. Since switching to Corsa Extremes it has been non existent.
Yes thanks, I put the stock titanium‘s back in yesterday and returned the Borlas. I might just keep it this way for a while. I was relieved to have the cabin quiet again. I had the Borla attack on a Camaro a few years back with no drone at all but these were terrible.

I don't know how guys like you run LT's/x pipe and Extremes. I'm running LT's/catted x pipe and Sports and am looking to bring the tone down a level or two. There is not drone, but I'm trying to "clean up" the tone from the raw sound.
The Extremes are literally straight pipes without drone lol.
